Protection paladin main for close to 8 years at this point. I’ve gotten 4 mythic+ titles and a couple of CE’s along the way.
I will put the main issue at the top so if the prot dev reads this, he can see it first.
Prot paladin has always had the reputation of being squishy. That hasn’t changed in season 2 of TWW and its still bad on PTR for season 3. We need tuning.
- Buffs to WOG. Heals for nothing outside of Avenging Wrath.
- Our passive mitigation needs an overall buff. The tank changes going into TWW hit Prot paladin the most, cause they were nerfed in many aspects. Blizz wanted to build a philosophy where you have to heal tanks more as a healer, well the sad reality is , healers don’t like to heal tanks in higher keys when the whole group is getting bombarded with unavoidable damage at certain pulls in a key. You have to heal Prot paladin the most out of any tanks in the current meta.
- While I am not against the concecration playstyle since I am used to it, this might need refining or a redesign.
- I think the way prot paladin is reliant on a lot of healing from the healer, it might need a bigger hp pool since our self healing is so weak atm. Like a 10% flat hp aura buff.
Obviously people can always reroll to a meta spec and not complain on the forums, but I am a stubborn lad and like my prot paladin, I play 1 character only, and thats my main for the past 8 years.
Last time I wrote a forum post was in season 3 of DF regarding the lacking tier set power. That got changed and the tier set became much better after ( regardless if my post moved to that change).
So putting it here so the devs can read it. Season 2 of TWW was one of the more balanced seasons in terms of overall specs in play overall.
Its just tank balance needs to be better, instead of having okay tanks, and 1 dominant for the majority of a season.
Prot paladin has its strenghts, I am just saying ( and thats across many top players and streamers opinion) that it needs a bit of love going into season 3. The tier set is purely a damage addition.
Thanks to anyone reading this.
