Quel’dorei High Elves as an Alliance allied race - 2024 (Part 1)

Aren’t you that weird troll who makes threats to Irvine and made all those freaky “Kill Baine” “Massacre the Horde Council” “Decapitate Talanji” threads?

Don’t think you should talk bud.

Dude if they ever going to do it, it would have been now.

Just as the obvious time to add Ogres was Warlords of Draenor.

And yet Hordies are still yapping about Ogre.

So why can’t Helfers continue to speak about High Elves?

I don’t see YOU taking an issue with all your fellow Hordies crying about Ogres after 20 years.

You can and should have high elves.

But I tell you it’s crazy how often and how quick
“Give us high elves” turns into “take all the elve stuff from the horde”

So being a bit on the fence when people demand high elves is understandable.

High Elf fans, like me still talk about High Elves and wanting them as playable in the most fair and just way, which is also meaningful and will represent the best of the Quel’dorei, long term.

What the fanatic (none)High Elf fans want is basically all things Blood Elf and you won’t get that.

I know what it takes for playable High Elves because I have studied their lore since 2009 (them and Blood Elves) and what playable High Elves need is their own nation, own city, own laws…not leeching off Blood Elves because that will only cause 1 thing:
High Elves will just be absorbed into Blood Elf identity.

No - what High Elves need is their own city state - we’re getting something in TLT (Shandaral and Crystalsong) which represents the best of the Quel’dorei. Yes, kick the Sunreavers out of the zone and make it full Quel’dorei paradise, representing elements of the Highborne of old and the current High Elves.

Emphasis on Arcane and Frost Magic.
Spellbow Rangers with Frost enchanted arrows
Priests of the Holy Light in small Quel’dorei temples

Warriors and Guardians defending Shandaral from the Void

Exactly.

They are not real High Elf fans.
I don’t understand how these fanatics talk so much about Blood Elves and Blood Elf culture. What are you talking about? I thought you wanted High Elves? I know I do.

Speaking for myself, I never made that argument.

I don’t care about Horde Elves because I don’t care about the Horde. I’ve wanted High Elves long before the Horde had their own Elves.

I just want playable High Elves with a heritage armor that hearkens back to their WC2 roots of rangers close with nature. For reference, Alleria Windrunner.

Don’t you just love it when randoms make assumptions about you and what you said in the past?

Buddy, I’ve wanted High Elves since 2004. Years, yes, YEARS before the monstrous, ugly faction got Elves as a welfare system.

Where did I call you a “fanatic (none) High Elf fan.” I was talking about the general fanatics who you can’t deny, exist and set our cause back ten-fold.

If you can’t see how much damage this whole nonsense of “it’s fine that those people demand all Blood Elf stuff” then your a lost cause because the real High Elf supporters, we can’t get our voices heard.

And now - thanks to those fanatics, who have directly insulted one of the lead narrative designers - it’s only damaged us further. I can’t blame anyone for now thinking that High Elf fans are the most toxic fans of the community. I mean, that beats the Banshee queen Sylvanas fans, and they’re already crazy anyway by preaching nonsense that Vereesa deserves a thousand lashes for hurting Sylvanas…

And I honestly wish you get that.

That’s the high elve fans I can respect.

But could you maybe be a bit less mean the horde races did not choose to be monstrous the are born like that / made that against there will

Sylvanas fanboys literally sent death threats to Golden in 2018. Golden who didn’t even decide the storyline, she’s not the one who decided that Teldrassil should burn, she was just contracted to write a tie-in novel.

Sorry, but no. There’s way more disrespectful parts of the playerbase, first and foremost the Golden haters.

You can dislike her books, but people genuinely send death threats because they didn’t like how she wrote the Forsaken that one time or whatever.

The same is basically happening here when you call somebody “Somebody’s strange grandmother comes out.” In today’s world, that has so many defamatory connotations to it.

No, both fanbases are becoming toxic and vile.

Throughout this whole debacle, I seem to be the only voice of reason because I seem to be the ONLY sane person in the room who knows how we can get High Elves and make them perfect and funnily enough…my ideas have very little to do with Blood Elves, outside of just removing a scattered few Farstriders from Crystalsong.

I don’t know what you want if you can’t accept High Elves taking up a new home in Shandaral which can be expanded and beautiful and all the things we love about the Quel’dorei.
With Midnight - Quel’Thalas isn’t going to happen…but it’s not the end of the cause. We’ve got other places.

I don’t know… Sin’Dorei are High Elves. Void Elves too.
I really don’t understand, it’s like calling a Chinese person “human”… yeah, no sh*t Sherlock.

The way to get High Elves is simple.

  • Make a race labeled “High Elves”
  • Describe them as “The High Elves of the Silver Covenant” to make sure people understand it’s not “all” High Elves (the precedent is Forsaken who are labeled “Undead” in-game despite being a minority compared to the Scourge)
  • Racial leader: Vereesa Windrunner
  • Heritage armor: Alleria Windrunner’s Legion outfit
  • Special customization options setting them apart from the other elves: wilder hairstyles with braids and more beard options, tattoo options
  • Racial hub: An embassy in Stormwind
  • Racial abilities: Something to do with Arcane/Order magic, Hearthstone did flesh out Vereesa as a ranger who uses arcane magic
  • Storyline tie-in: As you said, they can get a storyline in Crystalsong for The Last Titan, a zone that was criminally underused in Wrath, yet makes sense for Vereesa and her people because it was a civilization of high elves who used arcane magic until that magic brought their downfall.

Tell me, sincerely and genuinely…

Is this asking for the moon?

Because I don’t think I’m asking for soooooo much.

I don’t even think High Elves need their own kingdom, I think a little district in Stormwind is more than enough. This will also build up the Alliance’s identity as a whole, fleshing out Stormwind as the cosmopolitan crossroads of worlds and cultures that it is.

Edit that out - they can suspend your account because technically, the server is illegal.

It also makes sense because High Elves are known for their mastery of Arcane and Frost Magic.

So being in the cold North…using Frost Magic…also High Elves are the ONLY ones who are known to be “Spellbows” with frost enchanted arrows…and we can’t leave out the High Elven Priests and Holy Light worship.

It all fits and you can blend the High Elves and Highborne of old to create a beautiful Quel’dorei paradise, which also makes the old Highborne buildings a full-Alliance only thing.

It just works

No because then they just become absorbed into the Human identity. What we need is something where High Elves can make a bold stand. Be independent like they have been in the WoW Lore, like in WOTLK, Legion, MOP…they do it on their own.

They don’t need Blood Elves or Humans to leech from.

Yes, have a portal network set up between Stormwind and Shandaral…perhaps formed by Quel’dorei Frost Magic mastery

That does promote the old school High Elf Ranger vibe which was the first time we ever saw High Elves enter the lore.

But I think Alleria should be unique…I’d say we need a variety of colours from white, blue and green.

It does need to be specific because we’ve got various High Elves that don’t make the cut.

Highvale Elves from Hinterlands have sworn off magic and they have so little…they are basically a poor man’s Kaldorei, just without Druids.

I don’t see it that way, and I am not opposed to them building a new realm in Shandaral.

I just think it would make sense for the High Elves to also get a district in Stormwind to flesh out the city as a crossroads of worlds and also to spice things up.

When Stormwind gets revamped, I also hope the Dwarven district gets different architecture. Human houses but brown doesn’t really scream “dwarven culture” to me.

They can be recruited into the Silver Covenant.

There’s also the Allerian Expedition led by Auric Sunchaser, who appeared in the Island Expeditions from BfA.

Or another alternative: Make a new faction, called something like “The Quel’dorei Accord”, comprising the Silver Covenant, the Allerians, the Highvales, and all other High Elf groups.

As for the rest we’ll just have to wait and see. Anyone who thinks High Elves are never coming because they’re not in Midnight is a fool. The exact same argument was made for the Haranir just last week. Blizzard doesn’t care about stories and themes and will drop a new race, whatever it is, when they feel like it and simply make new lore about it.

If only all Belves players were as civil as you, our megathreads across the internet wouldn’t constantly be brigaded and devolve into flame wars.

I love both Blood Elves and High Elves…I love what they both stand for because when you see both sides of the argument that they have, it just makes me love them all the more.

A district is fine, but they need their own city and we have so many places where they can go and it doesn’t need to be Quel’Thalas.

I think, just with where we’re going in the last titan, Crystalsong Forest and Shandaral…the Quel’dorei actually have a better chance of being made playable but it truly means something unique. Just having the district is a total “Oh right…well anyway…” moment and the High Elves deserve better than that.

Them not coming in Midnight is the best route possible because otherwise, they would have no true value or independence. Whether it’s with Blood Elves or Humans, they just become a “yeah, whatever” race and that is so beyond them as a people and they deserve so much better than that.

They can’t have Silvermoon, I think we can all agree on that now, which is fine for me because I am somebody who knows that High Elves don’t need Silvermoon or Quel’Thalas to be playable.

Sunwell Ambassador is a potential candidate to co-lead, but the issue is…we know almost nothing about his current status on things.

It’s not like Arator where they’ve been building him up, slowly…Auric is somewhere…and we know he was a Ranger under Alleria in a bygone era and that’s it. We know nothing of his current personality.

Maybe alliance players can change Blizzard’s decisions regarding Silvermoon lol

If they do that, then High Elves won’t mean anything in the story.

If you truly care about playable High Elves and want them to stand out and be something - the best thing is to wait for the last titan and have them move to Crystalsong Forest and Shandaral.

I know I’m right and deep down, many High Elf fans know that I’m right.

What you want is putting immediate feelings over the long term, beneficial gains. If you truly want High Elves as proper High Elves, not leeching off Blood Elves, as I said, Shandaral is there, going to be updated in TLT and can be the new Quel’dorei home.

WE DONT NEED QUEL’THALAS, High Elf fans! For goodness sake, please somebody see where I’m coming from!
