Quel’dorei High Elves as an Alliance allied race - 2024 (Part 1)

I did. Several times back in the day. I played Blood Elf when they were released (I mained horde back then).

I still have the opinion I stated. Blood Elves were a mistake.

The NPCs spill it out while you travel there. “Our enemies will fall!”

Blood elves are sigma elves who realised other folks will just use them as bodies they can throw at the scourge. And that is a story I deeply connect with. I have currently 7 blood elf characters and they are all on max. I will play them again when midnight comes around. Blizzard did a marvellous job breaking with old fantasy tropes to make it real. I get your argument but the Devs doubled down on their decision by making Nightborne and the Forsaken their closest friends.

Well, I find it dumb and boring.

So agree to disagree, I suppose.

I know that I’ll never get my way anyway. It’s way too late for that.
So I’ll live - like I said earlier: I’m not a high elf fanatic. But I still think the whole direction they took with high elves is crap. :person_shrugging:

Only Midnight can tell how the rest of their story will play out but I am firmly optimistic.

True.
With all of this reuniting going on, who knows. Maybe Blood Elves will call themselves High Elves again and be open to join both the horde and alliance. Or hell, maybe horde and alliance will be a thing of the past.

I think racial lore and stories are way more interesting than factions ones, personally.

In the end its about wether you feel like the Belf story introducing the belves into the horde makes sense and I have to say based on all the lore surrounding it and everyone will give a different answer I imagine

For me, diplomatically, politically and geographically at the time of TBC horde made the most sense in all those regions. I’m not denying that adding a pretty race to the horde was not a factor entirely, but I’m not going to sit here and pretend like that was the only reason.

Blood elves in the alliance, how? the Alliance had no foothold in the northern eastern kingdoms, they’d be surrounded by Scourge and Scarlets and Sylvanas wouldn’t have only stopped helping them keep the scourge in quel’thalas in check which she threatened to stop if QT stayed neutral, she likely would’ve attacked quel’thalas and with no way to easily reinforce QT… yeah, it’s not hard to see where that would’ve ended

But again, that is a personal opinion/take
The only reason the lore gives is simply because Sylvanas and her Forsaken were able to leverage their assistance to Quel’thalas to get it to join the horde.

If you hated the high elf story I can only imagine your take on the Eredar retcon back in TBC when they and Draenei weren’t the same race.

Oh yes, I completely despise the draenei.
And not just because of the retcon.

I hate their looks. I hate their voices. I hate their stupid ugly tech.

Well yes and no. They had at least a bit of lore reasoning for joining the horde but yes it was mostly so we had a pretty race cause the hord was simply dying.
We absolutely should have orgers but I don’t think they would have saved the horde back then.

Its just a fact that people like to play pretty races so the horde needed at least one

Yes: But not high elves.

Just from the top of my head: They could have made undead elves, as a complimentary race to the forsaken. Would have been miles better.

That could have worked if they made them like the least amount of undead possible.

And to be honest I really liked the blood elves back when we got them cause they where these race of old elves that struggle since they need to consume mana all the time.
But then the sun well got repaired and they turned into lame elves.
Just like the nightborn. I liked there struggle but then some magical well got repaired and they where just elves

I’ve not been into ‘edgy stuff’ for years, so I don’t share your view.
I just don’t think Blood Elves fit the horde. Not then, not now.

I’m so over horde and alliance anyway: I’m actually hoping they’ll make it so every race can join a faction - it’s only lore and stuff. Everyone should be able to play with anyone.

Yeah I hope the keep the factions but we as adventurers get freed from all that. Let me be a sell sword that fights for whoever I think or that pays the most

I will personally bomb the sunwell in midnight if I have too in order to return us to our edgy state of ‘go burn this church to prove our supremacy over alliance lightworshippers’

Great word really. You got this.

It not really made any sense
The Ban’dinoriel was empowered by the Sunwell through the use of runestones anchored to Thas’alah placed across the Eversong Forest border, and maintained passively via an intersection of ley lines stemming from three ancient mooncrystals at An’owyn, An’daroth, and An’telas.
Those fel crystals could have power it ; they been there anyway radiating their Fel…

Pretty store the last runestone is active again after the starter zones questing as well as the mooncrystals under Magister control.

BFA, WOD and MOP were clearly horde vs alliance expansions but things have changed since the end of the 4th war…

NOW, the horde and the alliance are friends.:handshake:

Even Jaina, Aethas, the Silver Covenant and the Sunreavers are friends, there are no more useless conflicts.

You are grasping at straws to justify the blood elves losing control of THEIR city. Lmao. Nice try but no. Blizzard will not take away a race capital just because a handful of fans feel entitled.

TBH i would not mind if the alliance got given high elves but i want a badd bum horde race in return something like fel or or broken draeanei
