Well that’s not strictly true.
I’ve seen many requests from high elf fans to change it from a random proc to an on use active ability. And to me, that would be the same as losing it.

I just like how we know that’s what’s coming next on their argument.
And I have the feeling I’m wasting my breath here because you’re not here to have arguments or debate.
Oh my god we’re playing semantics? Oh well allow me to clarify myself.
You and people advocating your case want, in the name of “customization”, an ability to turn off the Void Visuals from Void Elf Racial so your fantasy of playing uncorrupted High Elf is validated by the game. You care, because the visuals bother you by ruining your immersion.
The people that picked the Void Elves because they are Void Changed beings are not bothered by that tidbit of the racial. It’s part of the intended Fantasy for the race they play.
I wasn’t arguing.
Someone questioned if void elf fans cared about the racial, i answered that i do.
There was no argument.
No need to be on the offensive 24/7.

No I think YOU do.
Real roleplayers play what they’ve been given within the story they’ve been told.
You want them to replace what they’ve written with your own headcanon, or to come up with some nonsense little better than fan-fiction to justify what you want.
Yes you were.
And you and you people just need to understand that adding options does not remove anything from anyone.
Do explain how extra options are ruining the fantasy for VE players? Or is it ruining your experience? Does it ruin the BE experience?
Cmon make some sense of it.
Ill recapitulate:
How does adding options to Void Elves, without removing anything thats already in place ruins anyone experience?
insert gta san andreas meme
an endless cavalcade of crying about not having a racial is insane ngl
Real roleplayers, huh?
Well, I guess you do decide who is and isn’t real.
Kaeros, Arbiter of Truth.

The irony here being that it’s you and people like you who are complaining.
You could just… not participate in the thread. ![]()
You could just… not participate in the thread.
They dont have that kind of self control.
They just come around say nonsense and then cry victim when they get an answer back.
Seriously, I still don’t get why people can be so passionate and hung up about something as minor as a racial. Just a thought experiment:
Let’s say Blizzard introduced an option for Void Elves to disable (only) the optics of their racial ability in one of the next patches.
What would that change, realistically, in terms of gameplay? What would be the consequences?
Would Blood Elf players change their characters into Void Elves?
Would Void Elf players suddenly quit because the feature is still there but optional?
From a practical standpoint, would there even be any consequences? (And no, “the HE crowd will still demand more!” doesn’t count, because they do that already, therefore it wouldn’t be a change)
Indeed the best option is really keep asking for a fully fledged HE race.
I don’t think it was meant hostile.
But wouldn’t you agree if the option was given for those that want it would be a welcome addition to be able to toggle/change the appearance of it?
That way you can have what you want without the other group “interfering” with your fantasy.
It’s a win win. Both get what they want.
I think the racial as it is, is perfectly fine. Just a little annoying when you want to time your burst with it. But other than that it’s a nice racial proc to have.
And no one said to take it away.
There was no argument.
No need to be on the offensive 24/7.
Chill out
Indeed, I was just preempting any further argument on that direction.
How does adding options to Void Elves, without removing anything thats already in place ruins anyone experience?
The customization focused on removing all the aspects of Void would, especially since you don’t advocate for increasing amount of Void themed customization at the same time, effectively dilute the fantasy of Void Elves. There’s no lore or story relevance you can attribute to it other than satisfying your fantasy.
If you disagree answer me this. How does any customization you proposed enchance the existing fantasy of Void Elves. How does it improve their theme and lore?

Glad I support the void elf costumsation thread here on the forums. It* needs some more attention tbf it has amazing ideas and suggestions.
One of the hairstyles is kind of Tolkien high elven though. With the braids and so on.

Again no one is removing anything.

Never said that.
effectively dilute the fantasy of Void Elves
Sure in the scenario you just created.
There’s no lore or story relevance you can attribute to it other than satisfying your fantasy.
Easily disproven as the OG VE were product of a interrupted process and we really dont know how the new ones were created. The fact that we already have normal costumizations imply that the process is different already.
If you disagree answer me this.
You danced around my question, created a ficticious scenario and didn’t answer me, so I’ll extend the courtesy ill give you an simple answer, look at the thread we are in and what im proposing. And by answering my question which I quoted at the top, you will find the answer to your question

Except even then they turn Purple, bleed purple and Shift through Void naturally. Something that clearly bothers you. Which by itself implies that there’s significant change to their nature as the customization is used also by very obviously Void Elf NPC.
If there were ways to customise the racial, id like them to be done in a way where it gets tied in to void elf lore. That way they’re still void elf options.
Sorta like how the hair colours and skin tones became different variants of void elf.
Not 100% what that would look like, but that would be the ideal direction to go.
Again you are creating scenarios. I only ever mentioned the racial proc. You mentioned the blood.
