Now you steal lands from the menethil legacy
It seems obvious atleast on the in game map that it is walkable from QT and there are the very obvious golden canopy trees visible on it as well in said corner.
I’d argue that developers currently intend it to be in a corner of QT.
Edit: didn’t click enough links.
Going by one of the links its very clear that this corner is tucked in, only walkable from QT, ‘bordered off’ by the typical wow zone border mountains
I’d say regardless of what an older colour coded map would say, that is a clear intention that in the developers mindset, it very much is part of QT.
It is indeed in Quel’thalas.
And now you’ve made yourself an enemy of Gabriela by disagreeing with her.
You may as well switch factions before she finds you.
I do like my red backdrop tho it goes well with the tabard.
I’m just checking in to say that these things would sate my High Elf appetite:
For something that only triggers in combat and isn’t even noticable if you dress in fully covered gear, a lot of people seem strangly hung up on this.
I feel like you should have other things to look at in PvE/PvP content than your model.
and RP’ers don’t do PvE nearly enough for this to be a major issue.
Why would you assume this is something I do, and follow-up: why would you argue this is something anybody should have to live with?
They changed Dracthyr and Worgen so I don’t see why they couldn’t add this slight tweak to Void Elves.
Since the purple effect only happens when you do combat and at least in my case I barely notice it because my eyes aren’t on my character. I cannot really understand why it is such a major issue for people who want High elves.
how this thing is such a deal breaker that everyone wants it toggled or at worst gone.
It seems like a minor inconviences at best and I want to understand why
In my view, the biggest mystery is why it’s such a big deal to you. If you don’t care about it, isn’t it easier to just let it happen and go about your day?
They will probably come at some point if customisation expands. It’s just hair. Though more tentacle options will be appreciated.
Tattoos? Yes, but Void Elf ones should be unique to Void Elves, preferably following the more jagged approach the Void Elf aesthetic favors over the clean curve employed by the Blood Elves in the Second War.
Who knows anymore, if Void Elf Paladins are a thing literally anything is possible, up to and including Forsaken Druids.
A title is probably not worth it as I don’t believe those are race limited. The nameplate is almost certainly off the table, not only because we don’t know what changing the nameplate involves (it could be a coding nightmare) but because I don’t see them facilitating you in undermining the story of the race you chose to be.
Yeah. No. If any suggestion involves Void Elves being less voidy I think that is right out the window. I cannot foresee them compromising the story of the race simply because you don’t like what that race is. You knew exactly what the race involved before you selected it. You saw the racials. You could have chosen something else.
Because as with the desire to change the name plate it is a reminder they are playing a void mutant. Take a moment to step back from the debate and recognise what they are asking for, which they try and frame as just ‘personal customisation’.
They want to take a race they chose to play, rooted in the story of the game, and then have its substance hollowed out.
We can answer that later, first answer me.
Do you really pay so much attention to your model in PvP or PvE content?
and does it really sink your immersion that you cannot larp as a high elf infront of other players or NPCs who are more concerned with killing you?
Blizzard disagrees with you.
Chosen Identity for Dracthyr.
Calm the Wolf for Worgen.
Before long, I’m sure we’ll have something like Veiled Identity or Void Suppression for Void Elves. Perhaps after a fitting storyline involving Vereesa or Alleria.
Short answer: yes.
The Worgen are deliberately a transforming race, it does not diminish their identity as Worgen. They are after all werewolves. Furthermore, the Worgen cannot sustain that form out of combat, they use all their tools in battle. A Void Elf racial only goes off IN combat.
And the Dracthyr visage was a well attested piece of lore for the Dracthyr. They’ve been doing it since the day of their addition.
Have you ever wondered why every parallel you folks come up with is so easy to tear apart?
What are you on about?
Worgen are literally able to keep their new Worgen identity in check through Druidic magic. Without it, they’d just be in Worgen form all the time.
It’s the exact same thing as what this proposed Void Elf change would be. Taking on the appearance of your former self, by quelling your inner turmoil.
Its clearly on lordaeron territory, you need to craft google for sight.
Typical HE fanclub patern : denial
No, the void elf change you want is about NOT using a void themed racial in combat. The Worgen transformation takes hold in combat. The parallel fails on multiple levels, including the fact that being able to switch between two forms does not compromise the Worgen fantasy (it enhances it) whereas your goal is to diminish the Void Elf fantasy.
Why on earth should a VOID elf race, the sole void themed race we have by the way, have less voidy options?
This is not some feral druid form (what worgen really are) nor illusion magic (what visages are)
Nothing that void elves have really computes or has overlap with these two.
Just because you adress 1x thing he said and leave out everything else (worgen able to keep form outside of combat) doesn’t mean the other points don’t stand
Wether or not they will add a function we’ll see, but I do agree with Kaeros that there is 0 lore justification for it (tho this doesn’t have to be a reason this function isn’t added).
I would even go as far as to say that it would severely downplay their status and be a net negative on the void elf experience.
Who made you the arbiter of what enhances or diminishes a race, lol?
Don’t add golden eyes to Blood Elves, they were introduced as a race addictd to fel magic!
Don’t give pointy ears to Humans, they were introduced as regular people from Stormwind!
Some people play Void Elves because they want to go all-in with the Void, while others play them because they like the fact that they are High Elves. Both perspectives are fine, and should be encouraged by Blizzard.
What’s lame and totally unecessary is people like you trying to gatekeep others from having fun in WoW. Find a new hobby.
