No what is lame is that you seek authorship of the story. You want your emotional desire to override the narrative that everyone else has invested in. I no longer really care you and those who want High Elves feel you got shafted when Void Elves were put in over Alliance High Elves. They were and you aren’t going to get Blizzard to implicitly admit they made a mistake by trying to de-void them because Void Elves have their own fans now. You are owed nothing as a result of that choice, even though you and others clearly feel a grotesque entitlement to try and change them simply because you feel ‘owed’.
The fact that we have Chosen Identity should be enough of an argument, the entire model can be changed.
Giving Void Elves the option to change Entropic Embrace is asking for the bare minimum compared to that. Especially when we already have skin/hair colours to match normal High Elves.

Except you are not a High Elf as you understand it, you are a Void Elf and your racials reflect that. The void theme was implicit from the get go. It was your decision to go with a Void Elf. If it not to your liking there are other options.
If both should be encouraged then helf should become its own race I’m sorry, but they are not equal so long as one is simply a customization of the other.
High elves will never get the things that come inherent with a race, like racials, heritage sets, a racial mount, starter zones as another races customization.
Now I’m not against that them becoming a standalone thing but it will never be more then a customization if it remains a customization, this I am convinced of.
You know that people play as more things than what is readily apparent, right? Which goes for RPers and non-RPers alike. And in this case, I want to be a tomato. I already look like a tomato, and now I want to be able to taste like one, too.
We’re not talking about moving any mountains here. The change would be something that would work for Void Elves, too. Everyone wins.

Or we see an uprising and a split off from Blood Elves deflecting to the Alliance and asking for forgiveness, which is more likely as there is internal political conflict regarding that in the Blood Elven society since TBC.
People play within the bounds of what is possible. If a Dwarf RPer wants to be a Wildhammer Dwarf, then that is their choice and nothing changes as a wildhammer is biologically identical to a standard Dwarf.
But if someone playing a standard Dwarf declared they were a Dark Iron or an Earthen, then people would rightly think they were being absurd. An ordinary Dwarf is not a rock robot, or a Dwarf whose kind have spent centuries labouring under the slavery of Ragnaros.
Furthermore, that Rp’ing? It is subjective. Your personal backstory isn’t imposed on everyone else. You desire to objectively force that acknowledgement by changing what a Void Elf is.
You are not an uncorrupted High Elf. You are a Void Elf. And your personal little fantasy of trying to minimise gutting the lore of an entire race just so you can pretend is what is arrogant here. You want to change the story? Migrate to the US, join Blizzard, work your way up in the company and finally gain the right of authorial control. Don’t sit and scream for your way on the forums.
Nobody’s lore is being gutted by having the option to hide a passive that may as well be a trinket activation.
It’s so low key compared to Dracthyr who can change their entire model to be humanoid should they choose to.
Allowing for a toggable Entropic Embrace doesn’t ruin the Void Elves, as I know many Void Elf players would like that themselves.
Nobody loses on it. It lets people who want High Elves be able to be High Elves, and lets Void Elves stay as Void Elves.

It’s a racial, an ability to intrinsic to someone’s race that is rooted in who and what they are.
And your motive isn’t rooted in any kind of lore, or storytelling, or narrative consistency, it is in trying to feed your belief you aren’t playing a Void Elf.
And the thing is, even if you got that it won’t be enough. You still bleed purple, speak with a reverb and have emotes and jokes clearly signposting you are a void mutant. In other words, it would never be enough to get an entropic embrace ‘toggle’ (which by the way is an absolutely unprecedent request that has never been made before of any race in the game). You will simply move on to the next things that annoy you until everything that makes a Void Elf a Void Elf can be removed.
If you want to play an uncorrupted thalassian elf with arcane rather than void themed racials, that is a Blood Elf. Which makes this all so much worse, you want to gut Void Elves to try and recreate the option that is already there.
When you play the game where there are only “void” and “blood” elf tooltip but people here claim “rreee nuuuuh i m not a void elf i m high elf duuuh”

I’ve got news for you, pal.
- Not everyone is invested in the Void Elf narrative. In fact, I’d argue the overwhelming majority of Void Elf players just want High Elves but settled for the compromise.
- Not everyone shares your outlandish opinion about making changes to the game. WoW has literally seen hundreds of iterations, and I’ve been here for every single one of them. If anything, placing every race inside some arbitrary stasis bubble where they can’t change over time just seems to counter to what the game is and always has been. Literally none of the races today are what they were in 2004.

Yes, and? The lore for concealing the passive doesn’t have to break the immersion of what it means to be a Void Elf.
We don’t live in a perfect world, the passive is the bare minimum next to normal skin/hair colour of what can be done to honor the request for High Elves.
It would be enough for the vast majority.
Except as you know, Blood Elves are on the Horde and High Elves are on the Alliance.
And I can smell the fel on you, Kaeros. It’s real stinky. 
Uncorrupted High Elves exist on Alliance in game, and if I won’t be able to play them in whole, I want to at least play them in part and Void Elves being able to toggle their racial doesn’t make them any less Void Elf.

Well If that solve problem i say let them have it. Could be done by quest somekind and could be possible be done as blood elf too, fair enough for both voids and blood elfs i think. Better than seeing same elf model added as new

Name one request where a section of the playerbase has demanded that a currently implemented be modified to be a different race. This is an unprecedented demand.
A subjective irrelevance. You have no evidence that that is the case, merely your own gut feelings. Furthermore, they could have done what an even bigger bloc of players did and played a Blood Elf, an authentic High Elf. The Void Elf exists on its own terms and with its own lore. If you want to play a Blood Elf, play a Blood Elf. If you want to play something similar on the Alliance, play the Void Elf but accept that the Void Elf is it’s own thing.
Again, this request is unprecedented. You are not seeking to expand the customisations of an existing race, you are asking to change the racials or add customisations that mean you can turn that existing race into a duplicate of another race. Which means you have come up with yet another easily dismissed ‘parallel’.
Lore that doesn’t exist and which you demand be created, not because it chimes with the fantasy of being a void elf, but so you personally can obscure that fantasy. Again, you are chose to be a Void Elf. You didn’t have to, but you did. The void is part and parcel of the racial fantasy.
It’s even in the fricking name.

You are playing them in part. All Void Elves are former High Elves, just corrupted. So out of the three words ‘Uncorrupted High Elf’ you’ve gotten two thirds. Kind of.
And let’s be very, very clear about this. Just because I am deigning to debate you, and Alaryon on this matter, does not mean anything. I am probably one of the few people who is actually willing to spend the time and effort to point how ridiculously stupid this particular facet of the debate.
Further customisations of some sort, yeah that’s possible. It’s happened before, so who knows, maybe they will take it further. But you folks are, and let’s step outside the bubble of the debate for just a moment just to put this in perspective…asking Blizzard to put a toggle on a racial. A damn racial. Do you actually know how likely that is?
They’ve changed racials. They’ve removed racials. They’ve added racials. But they’ve never added a toggle for racials just to suit the roleplaying community and you know what? Because most roleplayers play the game they’ve been given and the race they’ve chosen.
You’re a Void Elf. They aren’t going to give you a damn toggle. If you want an uncorrupted High Elf play Horde, or play classic+.
