Just because some NPC exist doesn’t mean they deserve an extra race slot. You can do this argument with everyone.

Honestly yeah a npc existing doesn’t say much
gnoll npc’s exist
ogre npc’s exist
murloc npc’s exist
naga npc’s exist
I still think the main reason we’ll never see high elf is cause blizzard will never add a faction specific race again and high elves neutral instead of high elves alliance makes negative sense.
Its a shame, but as an RPer, there’s enough void elves using customization options for high elves for me to get my helf/belf rivalry in RP in so I’ll manage.

We were close in TBC, they were on the table but it didn’t follow through.

They seem to be working towards breaking down the faction divide little by little and getting rid of faction locked new races is one of those steps I am sure.
I will live happy with my head in the sand, thank you for not tainting the funky little guys and gals.

Yeah true, it’s a shame
I’ll stick around until its fully severed or it gets really aggregious atleast.
Blizzard still saying that smaller skirmishes between more localized groups between factions can still happen and thats good for giving RPers a reason to still go after eachother if they want too, that has helped a lot.

The Red Dawn certainly is proof of this
also the short story that lead up to the questline which had the Stormguard humans and by extension the alliance act as the attacker for once is a mine of inspration for similar small pockets of hostility.
