Something I don’t understand, yet, regarding housing is the whole acquirement/link process.
For example, in my case I’m an Alliance player and I want to unlock and buy a plot in the Horde neighborhood. To do so, I have to use a Horde character to do that. I understood that part.
What remains obscure to me, is that we have various mentions of how the house is linked to a given warband or the account itself. My question is, do I have to keep that Horde character in my main’s warband to still have the ability to visit and use that house in the Horde neighborhood ?
I’m unsure if anyone tested this.
Warband is all your characters, not just whoever is in your camp.

Ok makes more sense since they do share all reps account-wide !
Is the restriction in number of houses, by Account or by Warband ?
Many warbands have multiple accounts - like families playing together, or dual-box players…
I hope it’s by account then, but this should be clarified
I believe it’s per account. I suspect they learned from Final Fantasy and saw the rich dung-eaters abusing the system and getting whole wards (equivalent of a neighborhood in WoW) for themselves and their cringe social media posts.
So 2 houses max/per account, one in each of the starting neighborhood.
