Question about loot tables

If one dungeon has 1 weapon on the loot table out of 8 items, and another dungeon has 2/8 weapons, does it mean the chance of getting a weapon to drop is double for the second dungeon?

No. Not necessarily.

The number of items on the loot table has nothing to do with their chance to drop.

Item A and B may both drop from a boss, be on his loot table, but item A might have a 10% chance to drop, and item B might have a 1% chance to drop. Vlizzard do not publish these drop chances, but Wowhead collects information from people running its client that have seen them drop, so your best chance at an approximate loot drop probability is to look up the drop chance from the boss’s Wowhead page.

Of course, if one boss in dungeon A drops a weapon with 20% chance, and two bosses in dungeon B both drop weapons with 20% chance, then you have a 20% chance of getting the drop from dungeon A, and a 36% chance of getting at least one drop from dungeon B, so dungeon B is the better bet.

But if one boss in dungeon A drops a weapon with 20% chance, and two bosses in dungeon B both drop weapons with 5% chance, you have a better chance in dungeon A.
