Question about Uniting The Isles Quest :)

Hello. I have a very simple question really.

When I am about to pick up the quest Uniting The Isles from Khadgar I get the following message”

”You are about to unlock World Quests. Its recommended that you unlock the story before unlocking this feature. Are you sure you want to proceed? This action cannot be undone”

So what am I really missing out if I continue? It doesn’t specify what quests or campaign that unavailable to me if I proceed. I am not able to do the storylines for each zone for example if I proceed? Or maybe skipping over some Order Hall campaign stuff?

Thank you

You’ll not be missing out on anything. It just unlocks WQ’s for use.

Thats very good. So actually this warning doesn’t really mean anything in practice?

Other than maybe a story spoiler or two.

Well those are important. What are those?

World quests are many and some are tied to story moments, some are not. I’m not sure if anyone has ever made a list before of the spoilery ones. The way world quests are given tho via Talking Head, with quicker “quest text”, doesn’t really spoil the story per-say, as in you won’t know a world quest was a spoiler until you do the campaign and see it there. The character giving you the world quest might be a spoiler in some places, as it might be an NPC you haven’t interacted with yet in the campaign, so that might be confusing a bit if having lore for what you are doing, matters to you.

If you care about doing the story linear and not getting any potential spoilers from world quests, then don’t enable world quests yet, do the Broken Isles campaign first and then finish that quest to unlock world quests. But be warned as you might be slowed down in IP-gain as world quests can be a source of IP.

But if you still want to experience the rest of Legion lore, in Lemix, without distractions or potential spoilers, world quests could definitely impact that. Since world quests can also be distracting if you want to focus on the campaign because they keep pop-ing up if you get into their area, having that kind of focus is important to some, ergo the warning.

You should also know, that Lemix is already technically non-linear since it didn’t start with the opening Broken Shore scenario, fallowed by teleportation of Dalaran. Lemix starts right after the teleportation, as the “alternate-timeline” jump-in, with quest options to do the scenario after. And since you mentioned the order hall, there are already moments where the story “skips-ahead”, which you might have seen, if you are at Uniting the Isles already, those skips are also a Lemix thing, so you’re already not experienceing Legion lore as faithfully as it originally was.

Lemix is meant to be more fast paced than the original, it’s an event for collectiong and achievements, and for some making characters a op as possible via the 999% vers thing. If you want the more faithfull story I recommend doing Legion campaing in Chromie-time and stop your xp gains at lvl 45 so you can finish the story without being plucked out at lvl 71.

Thank you so much for that well written answer. You definitly answered my question in the best possible way I think. I will just unlock and use my 12 characters in Lemix to be focused on collection and achievement. And I will do a chromie time character for the lore later some time.

I’m glad I could help, good luck on your journey. Uniting the Isles is going to appear on retail as well, especially since you will have the reputations maxed from Lemix - I can’t remember if Legion reps are warbound or not, if not it won’t appear until you do reps with that char. Anyway, you can proceed at that time the same, as in, keep wq’s locked until you finish the Broken Isles story if you want a focused story. Btw, after the Broken Shore scenario, I recommend if you are teleported to Dalaran to go directly to Archivist Elysiana in the Violet Citadel.

She has 2 dialogue options for you, so you can experience how Khadgar finds out about the Pillars and the teleportation of Dalaran, since I saw the game doesn’t directly give those scenarios anymore. After you do those 2 scenarios you can continue with the Order Hall intro and the rest.

To be clear, the linear Legion story is:

Broken shore scenario.
Archives with Khadgar scenario.
Teleportation of Dalaran scenario.
Initial Order Hall/Broken Isles first 4 zones storylines.
Suramar storyline + Power Within/Balance of Power will start at 45, related to Artifact
Uniting the Isles < – here
Legionfall and Broken Shore, aditional Order Hall/Artifact/Class mount
Argus.

They’re not. Hopefully soon

Dunno what’s the point of that quest being available at lvl 10 when wq’s are unlocked at 30.

To have them instantly show up when you get to lvl 30 instead of having to go back and do the quest to unlock wqs. I do the quest on alts at the beginning then when I hit 30 they just show up on the map, no need to leave the zone I’m in to complete that quest in Dalaran.

this was supposed to be fixed last week
