After playing WoW for 21 years, mostly mage ( Ravenash-Silvermoon ), after getting every single CE in existance on one char or the other, after 500 days played on a single mage, after being in top 20 mages in the world log-wise countless times and multiple rank 1s , your current modifications to this class ( and from what I hear others ) have made me quit the game. I have payed for the expansion , so you got that going for you, but I didn’t get past level 81 with this new Playstation-oriented gameplay and rotation. You have ruined everything this game ever was. You have ruined everything the original devs have left you. I truly hope your Console Migration plan will fail and you will have to end this franchise, that is what you deserve

Watch the Jeff Kaplan interview/podcast on YouTube and you will understand every single design decision. They are making the same mistakes that they’ve done with Overwatch since it is the “Suits” who give the calls at the company and not the creative people. Shareholder capitalism ruins every single medium. And now one of the greatest pve/pvp games has lost its skill expression to attract new customers and/or port it to console.
This is the future of WoW, a dumbed down game to attract the tourists. Meanwhile they lose long-standing customers.

WoW was literally created to attract the more casual MMO audience
Players used to say WoW was dumbed down back in VANILLA because you actually had quest hubs and didn’t lose XP on death, and PVE was actually somewhat fair for an MMO back in 2004

Lahkesis, this could not have been said better. The other guy is prolly a casual. For casuals, the new changes are well-received for sure. For veterans, it’s game over.
