I think a good time to nerf them would be when Black Temple/Mount Hyjal is on PTR. At that point i think its fair.
Servers are dieing and people are quitting because:
- Lands are full of bots camping and looking for herbs and mobs for primals
- Awards from daily 5-man normal and HC are unsatisfying
- LFG tool and “LFG bulletin board” addon are dead
- Casuals don’t play PvP because there is no dual spec
- AH is a paradise for overpriced auctions
- Prices go crazy due to low inventory levels
- 9/10 bosses in T5 are fine! Only Vashj is unfair. It’s not always the PvE case, but PvRNG case.
These changes are carrot for trash guilds without any ambitions which will not fix the real problem.
WoW TBC Classic needs quality of life improvements like Shadowlands AH and dual spec. Maybe dungeon finder. Maybe.
Why do this now? Let current content be current content and nerf them the next phase at least.
Have you learned nothing from classic when everything was a joke?
You’ve already took a dump on t4 way sooner.
You’re nerfing stuff too soon.
guilds die and are born its circle of life. if a guild dies its their own fault. countless guilds prove that content is doable.
nerf t5 when t6 is released not before
its just a loud minority crying on any social media that content is to hard.
These nerfs are in conflict with the philosophy of classic. Just nerf it with the release of next phase and new end-game raids so that people can catch up with more ease. The last bosses of any phase should be hard and rightfully stop guilds that are not good enough to kill them when they’re current content. Nerfing it with next content-release allows the hard-stuck guilds to catch-up so that they get a foot in the door into new content and get to experience it just like everybody else around the time when it releases.
^ This.
With T4 nerfs, you’ve showed to do it at the end of a phase to prepare for the next, which very few would argue against (except of having a timeline perhaps - much needed!).
This announcement was about as random as it gets in the middle of a content journey many want to finish instead being helped with.
On a smaller priority for you developers, I bet, is also the competitive side of speed running. Please do not trivialize content, because it makes that part of the game a lot less exciting as well.
tl;dr: wait with nerfs, delay till next phase, announce next phase in due time
How about you fix the servers that are dying instead of nerfing content to the ground!
While I agree with that, in my Classic vanilla guild, we had more and more signups for raids whenever we started to kill more bosses per raid. Easier it was, the more people were interested to join.
Maybe best example would be Naxx, consumable dependant hard raid - people starting to not show up until guild disband.
I just think people in general dont want hard(slower) progress, they just want to collect loot and get that bis gear.
Upvote for account-wide attunements!
Morogrim needs to be adressed. He’s either a walk in the park or unbeatable depending on RNG alone. That is no fun at all. If he watergraves 50% of the healers you wipe. If he watergraves the murloc tank right after earthquake you wipe. If he thrashes the main tank you wipe. If he doesn’t use earthquake often he is too easy. Increase the timer for earthquake but make it fixed instead of reducing murloc hp.
Don’t know about vashs mind control yet as we had our first try down to ~50% but we lacked time because of Morogrim. But in remembrance of KT in Naxx, Mind Controlled targets should be crowd controllable so you can react to the situation.
KT… well as you didn’t specify what that exact its post-nerf configuration was its hard to say wether its justified. Pure DPS-Checks are stupid as they punish non-meta setups, however not playing a mechanic correctly should not yield a kill. We’ll try him again tonight but i suspect a HP nerf to phase 2 and 3 of 10% might be everything thats needed. Phase 1 is absolutely fine.
If you really want to increase the guilds chances of clearing 10/10 - reduce trash mob quantity and hp so you get more time on the bosses. Fix RNG encounters so problems can be handled instead of just be wiped.
Please, do not apply a nerf before the next phase is opened! We are close to kill the last bosses, so we want to do it in an actual difficulty!
Do it, the forums and reddit is full of sweaties and people who dont even play the game. Raid difficulty shouldn’t be a reason for people to quit and guilds to disband.
We had our challenge us sweaties, we did our speedruns, let the rest clear it.
And you guys who are saying “pls dont nerf,we are so close”, no you arent its been over 2 months, do yourself a favor and support this so your guild stays alive. If you wanted a challenge you should have killed these bosses prenerf with the drop threat bug.
So incredibly disappointing. Even pugs can full clear the content. There is absolutely no reason at all to nerf the content. What is so wrong with not every single guild on a server being able to clear 10 / 10 ? What is so wrong with having progression.
Don’t nerf anything until P3.
I’m sorry man but if you can’t clear the content at this point there is something severely wrong in your raids. The rest of us shouldn’t suffer just because you can’t be bothered to learn the basics of the game.
On my server there are several pugs full-clearing the content in 1 evening / afternoon. If pugs can do it so can you (if you can be bothered). You can quit for all I care as long as you don’t mess up the game for the rest of us.
How about we stop catering to hardcore guilds that want to gatekeep majority of the population so they can feel superior about how much time and effort they are able to dedicate to a 15 year old game.
More and more people are quitting week by week, the majority of the players DO NOT want pre-nerf content.
I’m am by no means hardcore, neither is the guild I am in, but we clear it with relative ease weekly… If this is too hard for you, it’s time to either learn how to play or switch to retail lfr or another game.
Evidence that this majority that you claim does not want it?
Evidence that people are quitting because the some bosses are harder instead of quitting because they’re bored?
Will the game be better if everyone stops caring about consumables and just raid logs for 2 hours a week?
You’ll have an entire year to clear nerfed t5 if they hold the nerfs until t6. There’s no reason to destroy the content after 2 months because people are unwilling to improve and actually stay awake for some encounters. Go to retail if you want to collect weekly boxes of loot.
Instead of 2 guilds that cleared vashj and 0 that killed kael before t6, you now have half the raiding guilds at 10/10 … what more do you want.
Stop being entitled. If you can’t clear the content at this point then fix your raids instead of ruining the game experience for the rest of us. And judging the from the reaction both here and on the US forums the majority of the players are against this change.
That’s a different issue though - I do not understand why #somechanges was not made those raids tailored 20 man. Then 40 man could split into 2 main raids and 4 Kara raids without any issue. And there’s plenty of experience with both 10/20 man raids from classic.
By sticking to 25, Blizzard pretty much told 15 people of each guild to unsub and go home. I don’t like that decision, I consider it ill-advised, but it doesn’t relate to nerf before p3.
When are you fixing the kiting bug from Vashj?
