Rank Dragon Isles zones

Best to worst, in your opinion of course.

For me Waking Shores is the best by far, Thaldraszus is the worst by far. Ohn’ahran Plains and Azure Span are in the middle and pretty close. I’ll put Ohn’ahran plains slightly ahead due to Azure Span being so hard to navigate because of so many trees… so for me:

  1. The Waking Shores
  2. Ohn’ahran Plains
  3. Azure Span
  4. Thaldraszus

I’d agree with your list. At the moment, I prefer the Forbidden Reach over Thaldraszus as well.

Everything seems “upwind and uphill” from the Capital.

At least FR is small enough to be within a few wing beats travel anywhere you need to be.

1 - Ohn’ahran Plains - Great Story, great music, and I have my Dirt Pile route down

2 - Waking Shores - Really fun to fly around. Not a fan of the Dragonscale Exhibition, because they feel more like holiday makers than adventurers. Thats the reason its not number 1.

3 - Thaldraszus - Small and easy to navigate. Also the Rebels that drop the Inscription/JC KP items, has too lower drop rate, and that affects my overall feeling of the zone.

4 - Azure Span - Too big, I don’t really know where I am half the time.

  1. Ohn’ahran Plains - Best quests, and most beautiful zone. Mainly because I dig the STV / Jade Forest / Nagrand type zones.

  2. The Forbidden reach - Same comment visually as above, and I really like the system of it. Love how easy it is to get alts to 395 ilvl, and to get appearances for normal & HC sets for VOTI.

  3. The Waking shores. Tbh it’s a tie between 1&2 - i like the ‘Gorgrond’ vibe to it, it fits really good.

A long pause now…

  1. Thaldraszus - It’s not bad, but I don’t really like it. Too scaterred and too diverse for a zone, so many things going on. I also didn’t enjoy the story on this one, and it’s impossible to explore it without dragonriding.

Another long pause:

  1. Azure Span - It’s so big and so confusing. You have the snow, you have the rotten woods, you have evertything. Also when dragonriding, all I do is avoid the large trees. Story felt stupid, I didn’t enjoy it one bit.

Thaldraszus 10/10 would timewalk again
Waking Shores 9/10 pretty good overall
Azure Span 6/10 pretty cool but too many trees and kinda annoying quests
Ohnaran Plains 3/10 cool visuals but pretty sure I fell asleep while questing there and it wasn’t the green dragonflight’s fault (translation: I don’t like centaurs).

As for the Forbidden Reach I like the starter zone, the max level version not as much. I was never a big fan of daily hubs and as far as a story goes it has like one short storyline before it devolves into a grinding chore.
