- Undermine. The whole Goblin feeling is love for me. We missed that after Cataclysm and I am happy our little greelings finally return home.
- Azj-Kahet. If you love spookey mixed with spiders this zone is in it for you. It was really a great way to bring in the missing plot from wotlk again and also a great intro for the rest of the expansion. Just the repeated Suramar plot was a tad too much.
- Dornogal. Earthen who aren’t totally loyal to the Titans was new we can expand on that.
- Ringing Deeps. We never had Kobold Lore before and we learn the dark origins of the candles they use.
- Hallowfall. Sorry but humans are a massive red flag. The elf and human fatigue is starting to get on my nerves by now can we just abandon that for the next 10 years pls? Beledar is pretty but that is the only saving grace of the place.
Shouldn’t we wait for the final zone before we rank them?
1 - Undermine
Pros: Very funny side quests, lots of events, all the jazz music
Cons: Too claustrophobic, D.R.I.V.E not fit for this environment
Request: The Getaway quest MUST become repeatable!
2 - Ringing Depths
Pros: Kobold stuff were funny, music at most parts, Excavation 9 Delve
Cons: Meh at everything else
This area would be 4th if it weren’t for the 11.1 update
3 - Hallowfall
Pros: Music especially when you enter it from the “front” door, the area with the lights and especially the north part with the elite enemies is great for casuals who have the open world as their end-game, 2 interesting dungeons
Cons: Most of its story and characters
4 - Isle of Dorn
Pros: Music, open environment, nice colors
Cons: Meh at everything else
5 - Azj Kahet
Pros: Story parts, Areas with elite enemies
Cons: Too dark, too monotonous, uninteresting music, spider city has too few stuff for players to do for the amount of effort it seems to have been poured into it, missed opportunity to give the feeling of dread
The last zone of the expansion will be the Ethereal world and not tied to the others.
You just hyped me!
But still, it would be part of the TWW expansion, and therefore should participate in ranking it.
The point of TWW is that we go underground mostly while K’aresh is rather cosmic lore.
…isn’t K’aresh destroyed? Are we going to travel to the past?
Bonus point for the writing squad if we indeed go to the past not to prevent its destruction but to block the ones who tried to prevent it.
HEAVY SPOILER AHEAD well it got ruined by Void but the Ethereals want to use the Dark Heart to take revenge on Xal’atath.
Dornogal , bland gorgeous music. Love the city , I know we don’t want repeat content. But Twilight Highlands felt more lived by the Wildhammer than Dornogal does. Yes I read the questline , I am aware they were slowly dying out and the time of our arrival.
Ringing Deeps , huge and alot of don’t care stories. Visually lacked interesting things to see. When I have to fly through it , it seems the same.
Azj-Kahet , reminds me an attic , you know you go up once a year to get down your christmas decorations ? Cobwebs everywhere. Nothing exciting up there. Just boxes , webs .
Hallowfall , very pretty . Storyline somewhat interesting , I mean the Arathi are still about ? They’re all halflings ? woot. Beledar is a mystery.
Undermine is a huge improvement over mechagon. It’s an actual city and we can go into buildings.
Mechagon we were miss sold , if you watch the trailer , they never mention 99% of our time spent there is outside in a trash heap.
Gerontophobe… wanting to have an old lady endure that continously.
What? It’s one of the easiest and funniest quests in the game! It’s the one where you throw the totems on that thing chasing you!
- Hallowfall
- Undermine
- everything else.
I dont know anything about the story or characters in the zones, so Im judging purely by how much enjoy being there. Hallowfall has that “wow” factor. Undermine isnt for me, but its something new, creative, and feels like a lot of care went into it.
The rest of the zones all feel pretty bland and uninspired to me.
You made yourself an enemy for life.
- Hallowfall (Day turns to night, music
)
- Dornogal (because Dornogal)
- Azj-Kahet (Siesbarg!!!)
- Ringing Deeps (Pretty nice map, I liked it)
- Undermine (I will never forget the day I woke up hungover as hell and then tried to do the campaign in Undermine -__-)
You can spot the generic human fans here easily.
Hollowfall.
then dordogal
and then AZk-kahet
I love Hallowfall, it really reminds me of northrend of all places in wow
Hallowfall is not pretty it is basically just Elwynn but underground.
- Hallowfall
- Dornogal
- Azj-kahet
- Ringing deeps
- Undermine
5.5 Syren isles
Care to explain this?
I like how it looks. Usually I don’t like umderground zones so ranking them was kinda hard, because I kinda don’t like them equaly. But Hollowfall gives the illusion to not be underground even when it is (the bright ceiling does wonders for the zone). It also has more going on in it than Dornogal which does have some pretty places but its mostly open. Also I main paladin this expansion so it feels right for my character.
