Realm Consolidation Update - Season of Discovery

So, when SoD arrived I created my alliance chars on Lone Wolf and my horde chars on Living Flame. Now my alliance characters are unplayable due to the server being dead and can’t transfer them due to having horde on Living Flame.

Please allow us to transfer from PvP → PvE so I can actually play my alliance characters.

This should not prevent you from transferring. There may be a balance issue at the moment, which is maybe why transfers for Alliance are suspended. However, I transferred both factions a week ago without any issues.

Also, a quick update from customer support:

  • I was told again to essentially show off and was handed retail rulesets.
  • If I can trust customer support, it seems that blue posts here and the developers are lying about name reclamations and the systems in place. I would say that communication about Classic between them is non-existent, but who knows.

In any case, don’t bother with support at this point. The wait time is 3-4 days, and you will likely receive a copy pasta response meant for retail. They will keep you in this loop regardless of whether you provide full details, blue posts, or rules; you will still get a reply that indicates they haven’t even bothered to read your ticket. Then repeat indefinitely.

It seems like support is on a tight schedule and has a quota to meet daily. Actual resolutions or any common sense responses are unlikely, at least not in the first couple of exchanges. We’ll see what the next response brings in like 3-4 days, and I’ll keep you updated.

But at this point, it feels like a lost battle against incompetence.

U can transfer ally chars on LF and have horde and ally chars simultaneously.

Literally no reply or update regarding the name reclamation issue the entire weekend up until now. Disgraceful.

Well, look at the bright side; you didn’t accidentally slam your head on the keyboard and end up with a random name for your main.

At this point, I’m ready to unsub and play something else. I know they don’t care, but the experience with communication, support, everything, is at the lowest point in Blizzard’s history.

Why blizzard doesn’t care about Russian players? Go to a meeting with us and at least make it possible to play bg with European players

I’m feeling frustrated with my last ticket response. It was useless, and I’ve been waiting days with no reply. I keep getting the same unhelpful responses about retail rules over and over again.

I also accidentally named my main something I didn’t want, and now I’m just hoping to get a flag for a name change at this point. I’m worried I might even get muted or banned because my last ticket response wasn’t very friendly.

Also there’s been no communication on the name reclamation issues, and it feels like they want to bury it and hope we forget about it.

Sure they do, they let you play the game.

My chars are stuck on Chaos Bolt unable to transfer to Living Flame, how can i fix this? Not interested in RP PVP or PVE realms

They closed the transfer on the EU servers without saying anything!!! One of our friends wanted to follow on 9/23 in the morning and it was already not working. The support is not helpful, just saying it’s a free service and posting links of the server status lol. There was NO communication beforehand that the transfer is only available for such a short time - not 3 days wtf is this??? U said this will be a mega server and the only permanent server for the entire SOD period. Just lied as well as the whole part with the names, capacity etc.

So this doesn’t surprise me. They say one thing, then do the complete opposite. Or they just stay silent and do absolutely nothing. I’ve been stuck with support for 2 weeks now. And I was told to use the paid service and was again handed retail links.

Since there isn’t a single paying service available for SoD, I asked them if they were implying I should use one of the working exploits to get stuff fixed.

This is getting insulting. After several replies and explanations, after 2 freaking weeks, I get sent to use something that does not exist for SoD.

Weeks passed with no communication from the developers regarding the name issues. It’s also a nice touch to communicate over social media about “using any name; we will let you rename it later.” After more than two weeks of limbo with support, they basically said, “I cannot view or verify information from third-party websites such as X.” Nice touch, let’s pretend it never happened and hope people forget about it. After all, it wasn’t official, was it?

I did forget. I haven’t played for two weeks, first waiting for any official news, then trusting a Twitter (or X now) post that, according to support, is now unimportant (definitely a nice touch there). I encountered problems with names and hoped that support would actually provide support. It took ten days of battling with AI to reach a real human, only to be threatened with a ban for asking simple questions.

Now, I need to resort to exploiting the game to get my name fixed? I will not use anything that Blizzard does not allow, so it’s not an exploit per se, just what you might call a “clever use of mechanics.” But whats the point?

I took the easy route, deleted all my characters, and called it a day. This isn’t worth it. First, they killed the RP realm and forced everyone into pure PvP, and now this. gg.

Hopefully, the rest of you will have a better experience with support and devs, but all I can wish for anyone is that you never need real help from them. It’s disgraceful with AI triggers, copy pasta responses, and the endless circle you need to go through to get even one proper answer, not even a solution, just a human response indicating that they have read your ticket.

I understand you…The The support and communication is so bad. Everything Blizzard writes is just a lie. I’m happy when a certain private server comes out with lots of lovely classes - not this poor copy paste stuff from blizzard. And best of all - there’s even support! :smiley:

Well the server transfer to a MEGASERVER was a real success - 3 people from our guild were left behind on lone wolf because the transfer was simply closed within 3 days. Answer to the ticket? The transfer was free (thanks… we didn’t really want to leave and lose our character names!!!) But the announcement was - there will only be one server left and no new players can join the other one, which means the server will become emptier and emptier and die out. Suddenly there is not only one server because the transfer was automatically stopped as, to quote the GM, “when all the goals of the transfer have been achieved”.

Blizzard is just too stupid to do the math - there are no so-called megaserver but only ordinary ones. They were supposed to be merged to save money. But then the queues were too high because of course new players came back in the new phase. Everyone was angry about the queues and the lie of the non-existent megaserver could not be concealed any longer. So what do we do? we close the transfer and pretend that was always the plan.

Wtf? weeks passed and still no update on this name situation. This is a joke. I can’t believe Blizzard are just ignoring us and they unpinned this thread. Imagine.

So I was told to take any name for now by one of the Devs and we’ll be able to change it later to combat this reclamation bug. Are you saying now for those of us who come over that we have lost that chance?

Anyone knows if there is a paid option to move from Wildgrowth to Living Flame?
