What are you talking about?
You’ve always been able to transfer from PVP to PVE, free or paid. It’s only locked the other way around, but SOD has no realm migration services at all, so what are you trying to ask/say?

Tom Ellis/Fwoibles has tweeted an update on this today:
to all the SoD folks with names they don’t want, we didn’t forget about name change in Vanilla, it turned into a giant rabbit hole of unexpected work but light on the horizon once I can shift gears back to SoD.
I made my char on day 1, now someone else has the name, because he moved to my server. What a bad system is that?
Bet they wish they had not said people could keep there names

It’s taken so long to fix that it’s going to annoy players no matter what now

I think its time to move on… ppl, you arent getting your old names back. Aperantly it shows that making promises when you cant keep them is stupid blizzard, just saying…
So it turns out names actually were freed up some time recently…
But despite the promise of advanced notice, though, there’s still not even a retroactive announcement.
Presumably this means most people have already missed out on the chance to get their original names back.
I wonder if they’ll ever say anything about it, or whether it was even intentional.
