Disagree in PvP assessment. Compared to subs broken heights yes it comparatively lacks but outlaw is still a solid PvP spec in general terms especially in BGs where their ability to control more often shines.
I certainly haven’t found it to be poor, I win enough if my matchups to conclude this. I even beat sub rogues depending on how the encounter goes and if they know how to play rock paper scissors properly.
With certain conduits, leggo and talent combined I find I have fair burst dmg (although it is somewhat unpredictable) but when my Triple Threat procs into a Concealed Blunderbuss with a Dispatch between, that’s about 7-14k damage crit and armor depending. There have been occasions where I have melted opponents very quickly when Skull and Crossbones/Shark Infested Waters are up.
I can assure you this prot warrior is at the bottom of the dps meter when they share it in the chat. And i barely have self healing as a warrior.
I think you are referring to the tank paladins and the overpowered bears.
PS: just saying not all tank classes are so op only 1 or 2.
Meh. It’s at a point where I don’t fight but stick to the healers and interrupt as much healing as possible, until I get destroyed by some players peeling them.
Properly fighting PvP is not worth it since the burst is lacking, in my experience. Not to mention the poor sustain which comes down to popping Cloak of Shadows and Evasion. Feint is so underwhelming that it’s not even worth using except before combat initiation.
I feel as if Outlaw is more of a utility spec than anything that can be viable on its own.
I absolutely agree with the role you identify. It’s the support rogue spec, good at moving around for choice kicks and locks. That’s certainly what I capitalise upon.
I’ve had my fair share of fights where I’ve had my backside handed to me, but I guess I’ve had enough where I’ve come out on top to make me think it feels roughly fine. I really think using the bursty leggos and conduits helps a bit. Many guides recommend pve DPS stuff like Celerity for example, but I’ve had more success running blunderbuss and Weaponmaster for more frequent procs, and the extra CP for more frequent dispatches. It’s enough to make people back off or go unsteady which is what I want.
Also using Sepsis has been amazing as a kill secure. I think people underestimate how much damage it does. It’s also very nice against other rogues by stopping attempts to vanish. The in combat cheap shot helps a lot as well as targeted stun on a second target (if the main one has DR).
I’d probably do better as sub, yeah, but I love the outlaw playstyle and thematic and it works well enough I guess. The only territory where I’ve experienced some negative feedback is arena, and that’s largely because arena heavily favours subs “delete target” capacity where they can pile all CDs on a single target and essentially guarantee their death if they’re quick enough.
If Outlaw can survive the initial exchange, I’d say it brings more than a sub rogue in both damage and utility. The trick is ensuring the fights are drawn out beyond subs “20 seconds of death” once they pop SB. So like sub is amazing at deffing nodes and taking them from 1-2 defenders, but protracted skirmishes like mid in EoTS, outlaw is better (especially if you get an opportunity to get mileage out of blade flurry, where I have it has been glorious)
Regarding mob tagging, I could not agree more. In fact recently raised a ticket titled ‘ingame issue’ and wrote almost word for word what you have said in this post.
Needless to say the games master couldnt help me and I wrote a long passage in the survey given. What else can you do?!
Just make everyone able to get credit for killing a mob already. Its not going to ruin the game and it will definitely increase satisfaction of the paying customers.
Making these threads here is like going to a bar, announcing that you are quitting alcohol. All you can expect is ridicule and resistance. Best way to do it is just do it - I have been planning my quit for a long time now.
Sounds like a bit of a you problem you’re describing here
Sorry to be that guy
I don’t recognize this at all, damage taken is higher then ever and all tank specs feel a bit squishy now, for the rest our damage is not so high that a proper DPS wouldn’t be able to outdamage us
This design has been dead ever since they changed the talent systems in WOD, you don’t have Hybrid classes, you have specializations
In the old system (vanilla talent tree) you could actually create hybrid specs by putting points in two or all three of the talent trees, now when you pick a spec you can only choose predetermined talents for that spec with 0 overlap with the other specs, usually they also come with a set of abilities which should not allow you to fulfill the other roles your class is capable of
With that the whole pure DPS class arguement just withers away and dies because if you spec into DPS, you shouldn’t be able to heal or tank (and vice versa), if it turns out that there are DPS specs that can fully function as Healer or Tank then whatever allows that should be nerfed
The Hybrid tax is a reasonable solution in the old talent system but atm the game is designed around specs, you cannot be a hybrid spec in the current design, so there is nothing to tax
Are you using CDs?
Evasion? Stuns? Self heals?
Rogue has a very strong toolkit that should easily be able to pull and burst down 2 mobs and probably more
Also nothing wrong with going to the forums for a bit of a moan.
Sometimes it helps to get it off yer chest and have someone agree.
Sometimes the trolls come in and completely disagree.
Nothing lost either way
