Resto Druid vs Resto Shaman

Hi, I’m trying to decide which class to play.
I’m stuck between Resto Shaman or Resto druid.

I like to play pvp (Arena) and Pve (M+).

What class would you recommend and why?

Easiest class to play/learn?
Best class for pvp?
Best class for pve?
Best class for pushing high m+ keys?
Most fun to play?

Thanks!

Both of them good at all aspects.

Both are solid in the contents you want to do. I’d argue druid is probably slightly better in arena (2s in particular) but resto shaman (currently) is a bit better im M+ but both are perfectly viable of doing well in both content.

The main question is what do you like doing?
If you like being proactive with your healing, then druid is the obvious pick.
If you prefer being reactive, shaman is the natural choice.

Both have lots of utility and options to go more offensive, the main difference between the two is the manner by which they heal be it responding before or after damage hits, as shaman are rewarded for waiting whereas druids are punished for doing so.

shaman for pretty much everything atm. better in pvp, better in m+, better in raids.

The answer is fire mage on all these.

For 2 restoboys its not my area, i dont heal sry.

I’d say resto shaman is in the better spot for pvp right now, resto druid is only top tier in 2s. But as far as gameplay satisfaction goes, my preference would definitely go to druid. I really don’t like restosham pvp gameplay, whereas restodru, especially in 2s, is super fun.

A well played druid in 2s > shaman. With lifebloom leggo _ photosynthesis can remain mobile all game and keep up v.good sustained healing on both targets whilst doing so. Also has clone which shaman cannot do squat about whereas druid can shift to block hex or dispel it on ally.

The ability of a druid to work in 2s largely rests on their partner’s skill to act during the clone windows but they have all the tools to be one of if not the best 2s healers imo if they know what they are doing. Partner them with a class that has a good burst counter for mages, their one big issue (like a lock with nether ward followed by mortal coil/stun, or rogue with CLoS, ret with DS) and they’re golden as a druid themselves will be able to easily LoS a mage trying to get them if they play smart given they can’t be rooted.

So why post? The topic of the title clearly states what options are on the table.

Druid lore is cool. Shaman lore is boring. Play Druid.

Personally I’d say Resto Sham. Windshear for that reason, and totems, Hex.

I feel like Resto Druid + Heart of the Wild + Moonkin Form + Convoke should be some sort of arena meta for some time yet.

Personally, I like both classes. The druid has more open world mobility and shenanigans, and gets out of mobility impairing effects. The shaman has a ranged interrupt on 15s and (if they’re fast) might cancel a fear.

If it means anything, druids’ Legion class hall is a lot more homely. Shamans’ looks cold and windy.

Necrolord is much better for resto than nightfae.

But it’s so horribly non-druid themed :frowning:

Well, you either care about RPing, or you care about what’s actually better to play. Necrolord is actually better to play, but worse for RP. It’s about each person’s priorities, but they should be aware they will choose a suboptimal covenant if they go nightfae as resto druid or sham.

you will have more success with rshaman because lust in m+. Most of the time DDs are bdruids/firemage/rogues and other filler spec and a a random tank. battlerez is done by balance druids and other specs but these specs dont have lust.

Shaman has most thing balanced.
Hots
Single target heal
Very good aoe heal
Strong CDs
Good damage

What.
