Can’t decide which one to play so asking out of curiosity i think it may be mainly for pvp.
If you want to base your choice off of how powerful both of em are in Shadowlands - you won’t really be able to make a choice. Look through the utility and general design of both, and make your decision based off which appeals to you more.
Imma say warrior.
Ret paladin while does have its perks imho across the board just doesn’t add up to quite the warrior
Fury Warrior > Big Weapons > Loud Music >Smash face off kboard = Win!

Can’t reliably hit 1 button smashing your head off the keyboard.

I can obviously only speak for myself here but imo…Fury>Retri.
Now with that said… my warrior is light years ahead of my paladin gear/essences/cloak/corruptions wise so it might be an unfair comparison but I fell in love with the Warrior class back in vanilla when i made my very first alt… a NE Warrior. I have mained Warrior ever sense. I just can’t let go of skills like Charge and Heroic Leap etc. =)
Retri seems more “proc” based but with Fury you have always something to smash. I might be wrong about Retri sense my exp with the spec is quite limited.
I haven’t tested either of the specs in SL since i don’t have the beta so i cant speak of how they might perform in SL.
Admitedly I love my Fury warrior alt, she smashs shizz retri is just so boring.

Ret paladin is the option if you like playing underdog spec that get outclassed by other spec in each single aspect of the game, whereas warrior is pretty much always performing better.
