That truly depends on yourself, if you genuinely do not want anything, you should never have a ray of hope that somebody would give you anything in return, wether it be gratitude, or other things.
At boost buddies or as to why I started this project, and personally, I do not want anything, you can bash me, be mad at me, harass me, try to piss me off, and I would still boost you if you requested the boost.
What truly matters is that we can help others, and hopefully make them smile, or happy for a moment, if not more. If people did try to return the favor, or give anything in return, I would decline it, no matter how small the gift.
I used to run this project once before, and had a huge success, although certain circumstances in which admins craved power and influence over actually helping forced me to shut it down, I had plenty offers coming in, either from people who wanned to donate some gold, to people offering real life currency, and mounts such as spectral tigers, as a thanks for making such a great community, they were all declined though.
What I do hope for is a better community, a community were nobody can dictate that a helping hand should cost others, that helping a player with a mythic+ wouldn’t be too bad, or a raid without being paid.
Yes, sure there are already communities out there, but are they really genuine enough? Mostly most of them are about lottery, and twitch raffles, where one person gets lucky, or twenty in the span of a week. And do they truly do it for the genuiness, or do they have ulterior motives, gaining something.
And those communities usually fall apart very fast, when the people behind them gain influence somewhere. or run small time business. BB wants to run this from now till the end of world of Warcraft, maybe not with the same volunteers, but keep it running so nobody has to pay 150k for a simple +10.
