The same way you can transmog different shoulder pieces you should be able to seperate robes by upper and lower part.
Why ? because the robe covers the pants too.
Maybe you want the robe to cover only the top part and transmog different leg slot item.
Ill give an example:
Take a look how the new druid set looks like.
Top part of the chest looks absolutely shlte, so instead of forcing me to cover it with a Tabard, how about just seperate the robe by 2 parts (chest & leg slots).
And if someone wants to go full robe mode- thats also possible.
Its just an improvement.
