Which one is good for pve and pvp?
The class you like the most is the best for both.
A more deeper thought: With balance changes each patch, what’s good now may not be so anymore next time. Therefore I really recommend to just try a couple classes/races what looks nice to you, personally. And then stick with it.
There’ll always be a time when you have some extra alt-time to level a new one and maybe re-discover something.
This is how I rediscovered that Mage was the one who fits me after all, all the way from Vanilla when I found the other classes cumbersome when I tried them in Classic.

This, so much.
The devs deliberately keep swinging the classes and specs up and down. This patch, you’re superpowered; next patch, you’re underpowered.
Of the two you mention, I will say that classes with 3 DPS specs, like Rogue, nearly always have at least one spec near the top, whereas when the devs nerf Shadow, you have no other damage spec to switch to,
