Hi everyone,

I am on SWC since 2005, and my guild there was formed in 2006. with now members there from Moonglade too.
Because i felt “alone” in the main cities, i lately went peeking around at ArgentDawn and was instantly rejuvinated by the feeling around the towns and all being very alive.
Although, there is a LOT of elitism going on over there that i do not like.

So now I wonder, CAN WE get RP in and around the town going on again?

Can we, perhaps form a discord or something like that, where all of the RP’ers on our realm meet up and we can discuss events and such?
I would LOVE to know what events happen on the realm, and where.. I would LOVE to get thing breathing and feeling alive again, like it was in the early days.

I for myself am currently actively recruiting, but mostly i meet players on AD instead of on our own realm :frowning:

So, looking for recurring events, markets, festivities, drinking nights,… and a community hub!

We can do this!

We’re breathing! But largely unseen.

But it’s in pockets, and pretty isolated! Various efforts from different people in the community have been done over the years to encourage multi-guild RP, including several Discords, but these usually run their course after a period of time, and sometimes, it’s either not everyone’s cup of tea, not everyone gets along or guilds simply don’t align together, depending on their theme and narrative base.

Most RP on our small cluster is unfortunately primarily ‘guild based’, with many of them often absent from walk-up RP due to being on personal campaigns, as one example. Many of us don’t go seeking out walk-up simply down to the unlikelihood of finding it, and busy adult life means having an already established social group is easier to check into than scoping void barrens in blind faith…

The Vagrants would be happy to join in on occasional tavern nights and town shenanigans, but of course this all depends on if the stars align, as we’re often out-and-about on wider Azeroth adventures! Not to mention, with every new expansion release there’s a period of quiet due to people doing content.

Hi there,

Good to hear things are still breathing then, but i so miss the days i would walk around in stormwind, find people in the bar and have a great time with.
I dont care much for all the drama rp that AD often has, with kidnapping and death and all.. I mostly like wandering about acting like that drunk dwarf!
On AD, its basicly that what i do and join in on the weekly markets.

We could like, maybe start there, with a weekly evening market somewhere, but i do not know if the community on our realm has “rp vendors”.
My dwarf for one owns his brewery at his ‘house’ thats more of a guild tavern.

And i understand not everyone gets along, but that isnt needed at all.
If AD can do it, we should be able to do it too.

IMO there is always time for RP. Even when i am leveling, (or doing dungeons with the guild) I am IC.

I am looking into a '“plan” to get it rolling, we will see how it goes.

Do you know what the still “active” discords or maybe ingame communities are?

As far as I’m aware, the server-wide discords and in-game communities aren’t going anymore (though I could be wrong!)

I get ya’, a lot of us miss the walk-ups, but our population is pretty low for that to be an expectation, and the small population we do have are guild-based only :frowning:

You can definitely give a weekly market a whirl, I do recall a variety of ‘vendors characters’, whether they’re still in play or not is another question, but I can’t promise what turn out it will be so I wouldn’t get your hopes up - but I’m happy to be pleasantly surprised and proven wrong. If you don’t try, you never know after all. We’ll try and pop along when the stars align!

The last time I attempted a server wide thing was a fair few years ago and truthfully, it was about 75% of my own guild, with only a few stragglers. We used to have annual Hallow’s End ball but that hasn’t ran the past two years I believe, either. A few other people inbetween that time period have also tried, but as I mentioned before, whatever wide and social activity we have is brief and people are relatively cosy in their guilds! I can only see that being amplified now we have housing. We had the Dragon Isle summits a while back hosted by Torakk from Beastmaw, and they featured a lot of people, but equally, these were alongside guilds coming together to discuss and inform each other of the adventures/dangers individual groups were having.

Not everyone is IC all the time - people have jobs, children, or simply wanna play the game. I’ll hold my hand up that sometimes my TRP addon goes toggled off and I hide offline, purely so I can do content undisturbed.

My best bit of advice is maybe contacting Torakk from the Beastmaw or Anroka from the Hand of the Titans - there was talk of a server-wide neighbourhood possibly in the works but I’m not sure if that came to fruition, but definitely give those two a shout as they’re very big on community efforts in general!

I want to stress out that I have 2 kids AND 2 jobs So I do understand that people are busy with leveling and grinding, but i admit that NEVER stopped me for being OOC.

Being IC shouldnt be hard, people (and i am looking at AD) MAKE it hard because of 5000 rules they set up…

Well this is a game where stories, adventures and stuff happens where you interact with and obtain strange creatures so why the hell cant they be IC!?
I sometimes go at a faster pace or ever run a little or drive my car to get somewhere too :stuck_out_tongue:

I believe that everyone should RP the way they want to.
I know people that were stressed out because their guild officers held their characters down, almost like a dictatorship..

Back in the days I was busy being OOC and got talked to IC and instantly switched…

You are spot on with it being hard as we are on a very low populated realm.
But i might believe that people MIGHT hop over to our realm if we offer casual open world rp, because some might want to escape from the elitism at times?

I can only speak for Steamwheedle back in 2006, it was just fine!
Regular stuff happened in the cities, not speaking of big events, but you would find people just having a drink in the bars.

I also find is SO hard finding new people for my guild.
We want to get things up and running again, since sadly most quit when Cataclysm came.
And now with the “open world rp” being just dead, i think its veeeery hard to find new players of even alts that are guildless and are recruitable.
So IN comes the AD realm but i shouldnt be recruiting in the open world there, i should be able to do it on our cosy realm :slight_smile:

About the TRP addon, i LOVE that addon but it shouldnt even be nescessary.
