Hiya folks! With Acrona taking a well-earned break from community initiatives, this will be the new thread for all things Night Elf in RP. :crescent_moon:
As with the original, please feel free to advertise your events and guilds here, and don’t hesistate to ask questions. If the information you’re looking for isn’t here, there’s likely somebody in the replies who may have it!

This forum initiative is aimed at players who wish to give night elf themed roleplay a shot, but aren’t quite sure where to find people, what’s happening when - or what these long-eared folk are all about. This is not a “how to roleplay a night elf” guide, but rather an informative resource to help people who’d like to explore the theme, figure out their character concepts, and schedule events to meet up with like-minded roleplayers.

What's their story?

One can read up on night elf lore for free on Warcraft Wiki. Formerly known as Wowpedia, the website was split from Fandom and moved to wiki.gg in 2023. It’s a great site for finding information about anything and everything related to the setting, with sources provided (in-game, books, etc.).

The night elves have a lot of lore, owing to their prominent role in the ancient history of Azeroth. Don’t fret, comprehensive knowledge is not a prerequisite for roleplaying a night elf. It would be beneficial, however, to have a general understanding of how their society operates, as well as recognize the race’s involvement in the major wars.

Places you're most likely to find night elf themed roleplay

The night elf scene on Argent Dawn has always been of roaming nature, the activity in settlements spiking and dwindling on repeat, never a constant all year long.

The recurring hubs currently are Astranaar in Ashenvale and Seradane in the Hinterlands. Popular event locations include Amirdrassil, Winterspring, Mount Hyjal, and Feralas.

If you’re struggling with finding people to casually roleplay with, the ‘Amirdrassil’ and ‘Temple of the Moon’ discord servers (below) have ”looking for roleplay” channels that might help.

Guilds tend to travel the world for their own campaigns and events from time to time, and in order to catch them about recruitment, it’s best to reach out to the guild’s officers directly.

'Amirdrassil' - Night Elf Roleplay Discord

The server was created by Jai’are and Morningtide in late December 2023. It has since become the biggest discord revolving around night elf roleplay on Argent Dawn. Despite its name, night elf themed roleplay initiatives happening outside Amirdrassil are advertised there as well. People are welcome to share their character profiles, in-character rumours, artwork and stories on the server.

Because of these precedents, we deem it fair and just that membership of this community is something that will either be explicitly denied, or has to be earned with an extra layer of scrutiny. Membership is guaranteed to people who have no record of the above actions. No cross-server drama - please handle any problems between members privately. If you need to speak to a moderator you can DM them privately.

These rules are not set in stone, they are flexible and will be tweaked or adjusted over time as the moderators see fit. Major changes will be announced, minor ones will be edited in. You can not argue on the grounds of outdated rules or rules you’ve not memorized right. We recommend giving them another read every now and then.

As I see nobody has yet posted an event here yet, I’m honoured to add one and hopefully inspire other elves to action!

:first_quarter_moon: Bel’ameth Bash :last_quarter_moon:

This will be a light-hearted and game-activity filled evening where your character will have the opportunity to partake in both fast-paced, roll-based & strategic games alike!

:clock10: Time: 20:00-22:00 ST
:round_pushpin: Location: Silver Feather inn

Depending on numbers of attendees, we’ll be either playing several games simultaneously and rotating groups / interested around - or simply bring the main group through 3-4 of the planned activities, which envelop:

Battleships :trident:

A game created by the Terror of Tides herself, Captain Everdream that will take you and your papership out to the harsh seas to face another daring opponent. This involves strategy, dice and even haste! Your ship will carry:
1x mortar (1-24 dmg dice)
3x broadside canons (0-8, 1-7, 2-6 dmg dice)
1x chimaera (6-12 dmg dice)
As well as 30 hit points and one-use blessing of a blink to avoid incoming attack. This is coded and made into TRP-extended items that will be offered to those playing in order to make both rolling and counting smooth and engaging. But you will need to have the extended downloaded & updated for this to work!

Forest Whispers :detective: :deciduous_tree: :crescent_moon:

A game in which your guile will be put to test and your skills in investigating! The participants will be in secret offered following roles: Satyr, Priestess, Warden and Sentinels.
The game goes in rounds, with day and night cycles. During the day, when the kaldorei and their nocturnal nature beckons to sleep, the satyr plot… and during the night the protectors waken in their search for the wicked. This divides participants into two sides, one of the “shadow” and one of the guardians. The village wins by unveiling all the satyr and the satyr win if there’s more or equal amount of them left in comparison to the guardians. (kind of like mafia game, further explanation below)

During the day: :sun_with_face:

The vilage heads to sleep, and the chosen satyr awaken. Between themselves they agree, who will be eliminated whilst everyone sleeps. Then the Warden wakes up, with the ability to investigate any player of their choosing - to learn if they’re a satyr or not. Lastly, the priestess will have an opportunity to protect any player of her choice from being eliminated whilst everyone sleeps.

During the night: :crescent_moon:

The village wakes up, the player who has been eliminated plays dead and must remain silent. Everyone else, enter a discussion that will last for upto 7 minutes of time. Then the village must vote, who to exile. The exiled player may no longer take actions during the day or talk during the night.

The game continues with day & night cycles until either all satyrs have been exiled, or the satyr have eliminated enough guardians to be in power.

Moonball :mirror_ball:

The good old and traditional kaldorei game of tossing moonglow coated balls at one another. Depending on amount of participants this will be either a FFA, team-versus or one on one. For this activity you will need to have acquired the dazzling rod toy!

Bonk’alore :crossed_swords:

Another recently surfacing game, in which the participants pick up the foam swords and go up against each other, until the foam sword of their opponent breaks! This will likely be in a FFA ot team-versus format.

Tomorrow’s Imbel! We are really excited to host the first event or our Kaldorei festival season, this time in Bel’ameth!

We recently learned that Bel’ameth seems to phase for players below lvl 80, regardless of party syncing or not. It is thus adviced to come on a character above lvl 80 for this event. Fingers crossed this will be fixed in the near future.
