Sparring at Keen Edge
Steel rings with shrill clarity from the collision of dulled edges. The scent of sweat and blood undermines the subtle fragrance of dew from Bel’ameths flowerbeds. Cries of agony upset the harmonizing of bird song and the unsuspecting buzz of village chatter. It’s just a bruise, soldier. Pick yourself up and get back in there.
Perhaps there is a motive to show force behind the choice to elect Keen Edge Hall, the first sight of many visitors to Amirdrassil’s ever prospering capital settlement come across, as the theatre of regular combat practice amongst the sentinels. Truth is, the training grounds are an open stage for any combatant to test their mettle, and in case there was ever any doubt, a cordial invitation awaits those with a thirst to hone their prowess.
To the citizenry of Bel’ameth,
Volunteers are invited to report to Keen Edge Hall to engage with the sentinels in combat training, this not in the spirit of competition, but rather a chance to trade techniques, experimental or conventional. Sparring weapons will be spared out of our own armoury. If you have your own to bring, they need approval from the presiding officer.
