Safe Spotting on Winterspring & Tanaris

How should we report players using safespoting on the golbin controlled cities like in Winterspring or in Tanaris? Is this consider cheating?

Cheating, no.
Report it as exploiting. If they’re not supposed to be able to get to those spots, Blizz might not look too kindly on it. If it’s just a matter of timing patrols or standing in a certain spot that’s easily accessible (meaning no wall-jumping or terrain bugging), they almost certainly won’t care.

Safespotting is griefing and is a bannable offense even on servers designated as PvP, screenshot and report it to a GM and they’ll be banned for the next 6 months

Maybe first get through your head what safespotting means, like using obstacles by which guards cant reach u.

Avoiding guards or killing them isn’t safespotting!

proof please

can show you, and even describe the spot, just prefer to show it to a GM first, before people abuse of it, i am against it, not making a guide for it

U didnt answer my question… Is he or isnt he using a roof or other objects to disable the guards from reaching him… I’m thinking not.

Yes, there is a spot where you can attack freely and not beeing able even to be target by the golbins… and it is inside an house on Everlook. A frostmage was doing it. i tryed and pop frostward, and got “unlucky” and it reflectedhis frostbolt… i got targeted by the guards and obsviously died.

so that is not safespotting Get it through your head.

no? enlight my world and explain me what safespotting is please.

False, that’s exploiting by definition.

  • cheats; i.e. methods not expressly authorized by Blizzard, influencing and/or facilitating the gameplay, including exploits of any in-game bugs, and thereby granting you and/or any other user an advantage over other players not using such methods;

It is not, retail is not classic pvp bud

Get your definiton of safespotting straight

he isnt safespotting by cleaverly not standing next to a guard

U can look it up yourself u uneducated kid

there he goes by revealing himself. Do you even know where the person is? Do you even imagine how this is done? If you do, congratz to you. If you dont, stop talking about something you don’t know.

Inside a small house with 4 guards in it… hmm i wonder how would YOU pull that off, you must be some kind of expert… anyway. Ignoring your answers untill something positive comes out.

Why are you going on a verbal assault when this person is clearly asking for information? Stop spamming posts, step back and look at your behaviour.
You have sought information on this exact topic before and was treated in a far better manner.

I suggest you report in-game and/or open a ticket and move on. It seems that GM’s will first issue warnings if they determine it to be foul play, if the players continue it could warrant a ban.

I won’t sit here and pretend to know specifics but common sense is probably the rule of thumb.
If you cannot fight back or if they can kill guards whilst the guards cannot path to them, it’s probably foul play. All you can do is report and go about your day, this is the best thing you can do, that I feel sure of.

Brcause its clear as day this is just a matter of agro range fro ma 60 to a 57 guard and not safespotting just becuase some one is safe from guards.

Why else does he not respond to the whole object related question in which safespotting is regarded as safespotting.

Safespotting (in this context, at least) refers to things like jumping along a certain spot in a wall to reach a point you’re not intended to be, where guards can’t reach or aggro.
Standing in a spot inside a house is technically safespotting, but guards can both reach it and aggro players there, so whether or not it’s an exploit or clever use of game mechanics is debatable.
One player made a sport of of finding spots like that in BB, was well known for it, and almost certainly reported many times. However, he was never banned or even warned about it, afaik, because he didn’t use wall-jumping or anything to get to those spots.

Open a ticket and see what a GM says.

Now that’s a guild name i can get around.

If you go to Winterspring inside the room with the goblin that sells the Runecloth bag Pattern, walking across the corners of the room you won’t get attacked by any guards, no matter if they are right next to you. Sounds like its pretty similar to OP’s situation. How do i know this? Because I used to camp that pattern and I’ve died to people killing me in said way, way too many times.

Good day, and chill down.

Sorry you look stupid.

BTW There was a huge drama on reddit after a person that reported safespoters was banned himself by mistake because GMs banned enmass everyone that was on the spot, guilty or not.
