PvP zone quests such as ‘Overcoming the Mountain: Krolkoth’ and ‘Extermination’ sometimes won’t complete after completing the objective. I suspect this is somehow related to phasing/grouping.
Relogging, re-entering the zone, disabling/enabling war mode all do not help. Once this happens, the world quest remains uncompletable, as there’s no way to abandon a world quest.

I got the same problem. The one with the ducks was no problem but Krolkoth won’t complete. Tried the same stuff you did but without success.
Having the same issue here. The WQ “Overcoming A Mountain: Krolkoth” wont complete once it’s been killed. The WQ says it has been killed “1/1”, but nothing happens. Reloading and restarting wont fix the problem.

Just to gather some intel: Has any of you a reputation contract active? Searching for the Quest on Wowhead yielded the information that it could be bugged due to active rep contracts. It’s probably too late now anyways but would still be helpful information.
I have another problem: the quest in Thaldraszus just disappears as soon as i leave Valdrakken. Tried relogging, war mode etc., nothing worked.
Same issue. Happened three times for me. Each time I can’t help but be angry and having a hard time moving on with a completed world quest just sitting there taunting me.
The three were: The How to tame your proto-drake and Defeat Krolkoth in Waking shores, and today Defeat Rhuzast in Thaldraszus.
I agree with the OP in that it has something to do with the broken fix Blizzard tried implementing with phasing. That I also suspect they made to combat the lag in Azure Span. That lag then came back after the emergency shutdown they did on the first day of this happening.
Also have to say; this whole thing going on without any communication (hotfix etc.) and leaving us robbed of some world quests several days later = not fixed. Is kind of unacceptable, I must say.
Same here, since df release every single world quest related to pvp warmode with strictly killing elite monster like Rhuzast make world quest as 1/1 “finished” but dont give rewards and still shows on map regardless of completing the objective. doesnt work for me but for my brother works just fine.
World quest “hydro tuskarr” or any similar with gliding on the boat collecting fishes dont start, i get the buff to glide but character just stand still and nothing happens, tried everything possible like reloging, changing shards, grouping up, reloging away from the zone, nothing works.
I’ve had “better luck” with the PvP quests last day or two. Most importantly, I was flying through the Waking Shores (not at the wq) and suddenly got the credit for a WQ I had completed like almost a day prior. So I was thinking maybe they did hotfix it somehow. Or it’s a roll of the dice or whatever. Either way, the thing is they should let us know what happened!
With that Tuskarr skating wq I’d advise you to go to it. Click the one option (I always did the skates, not the water walking) but click it just the one time, and wait. It’s “buggy” but I recognized that and got it working by simply being patient. When I clicked it, and nothing happened for like 1 second, and my WoW-brain made me click it instantly again, then I get stuck there with the buff up.
