And id absolutly agree that it is important. I would not want to denie them to do anything they like in front of me. As i sayed in my last emote i prever to show it in action instead of constantly talking about it. What i donât like is when the behaivor gets obessiv. When i have the feeling the people keep mentioning it just to mention it. I want them to behaive natural with it. Like a normal person and any other couple as well.
Talking about WoW zones you mentioned i hate valâsharah and the area with tyrande and malfurion.
It will cost you, everything.
But in all seriousness, many people dont enjoy relationship roleplay at all and thats fine. It can grow very stale, problematic if it isnt with a very good friend/partner(even then it can tbh) and its probably the second largest cause of drama on the server outside of erp.
Ortellus here was hurt once, and never loved again.
Donât worry, we all did. Xavius âfake visionsâ is a headcanon I donât follow.
As well people demanding justification for why black belfs exist is stupid. You shouldnât need justification for representation. They just existâŚ
Thats something on a different paper in my opinion. Blizzard pulled out a justification for Gold eyes and fat humans. Saying that a completly new set of skin colours does not demand justification is problematic cause while it does litteraly not harm anybody and only helps people it does seem kind of lazy in my opinion. As sayed nothing wrong with it i just get that some people would prevered to have it explained like everything else was explained.
Whether the topic is homophobia, racism or even religious RP, self-insertion / author avatars are not healthy. They can escalate real quick into OOC drama because if a character is used as a projection to experience stuff one couldnât experience IRL, the roleplayer might act obsessive / over-protective of the character.
It is why I also consider characters with a strong âidentityâ as a red flag; though I will confess this issue came up with cultures/nations more than sexuality.
The irony there is that the raceâs aesthetics and culture were modeled after Arabian themes (1001 nights in specific).
They did give explaination though. Two if I recall.
The lore one is: we just hadnt portrayed/seen them.
The OOC one: people wanted it+its fun to make characters you can identify with so why not.
i am gnom
Just thought you should all know.
Why not mention it? Youâre in a relationship, youâre very likely going to mention your partner somehow. It only sticks out when itâs LGBTQ+ partnerships, as straight ones have been commonplace for so long that nobody even really bats an eye.
Besides, you can show and tell. Weâre in vague situations right now, but if people are just around campfires telling stories, mentioning your partner is totally OK, just as giving an innocuous kiss or w/e. In the middle of a boss fight, itâs probably not so much.
In this case, Iâm still struggling to see how LGBTQ+ do it differently.
Yeah, strangely Iâve only had these feelings with straight characters in WoW.
A Belf player could probably correct me on this, but havenât black blood elves already been justified (something something eternal summer something melanin)?
Iâm probably part of the problem here, but in my case, I just donât want to pay bucks to name change or level a new character, or even come up with a new character. So I may be more protective of my characters even without self-inserts, which at times may not be very healthy for the RP.
I donât necessarily think it comes to those topics though.
I may be very prude or have spent too much time living in Britain but the idea of this is strange to me + I havenât ever seen it in RP other than when a characterâs actual RP partner was present.
Yeah but thats basicly retconning the laziest form of explaining something and a flawed writing sin blizzard is famous for.
Like if Golden Eyes get explained with the light influences there body again why not think of something for that as well. You knowâŚjust to make it look cleaner and less agenda like. I just think it would have caused less drama if blizzard would have sat down and slapped us maybe half an hour of lore to it.
It just would have caused less drama in my opinion and would not have been mutch work but its still fine as it is.
@Nerathion
If you are all siting around a fire talking about your past, your loved ones etc of course it can be mentioned. Its like the thing with the boss fight and the kiss. Timing is Key. You have a problem in RP and your partner could help it? Sure mention him.
As a British person your first and only love should be Her Majesty the Queen
She will also be your last one cause she will outlife you all.
This might be a personal opinion, but sometimes more isnt needed than âhere are more customization why notâ.
Skin colour has not really been a lore thing other than for dwarves, orcs and trolls. So its like giving more hairstyles options really.
[Heart of Oak blasts out and shatters your windows as I kick down your front door]
Unironically why Aerilen is a social void.
Itâs little known lore, but here in England itâs considered an honour to have your soul drained by dark ritual to feed the Queenâs own life force.
Villages up and down the country hold celebratory parades for the local residents chosen to sustain her; and so long as the practice continues, Her Majesty shall simply reign forever.
Actually sounds like a good game plot.
Donât know but that doesnt realy help your point to say that is has everywhere else been handled better but here._.
