Perhaps. I just personally dont see it as an issue.
The eyes for example has a lore to it already previously. So does as I mentioned diffrent orc or troll colours. But elves its not really been a thing, so its just another customization option that doesnt need explaination, such as hairstyles.
They didnât need to justify fat humans. You are fundamentally misunderstanding why Kulâtirans are chonky. Every kind of body shape exists all over the world. They just made them thick to give them a distinctive look from their regular human model.
People donât typically have gold eyes. So a reason for why that exists is fine. But saying we need to justify body shapes and skin colour is stupid.
Yes, thatâs very understandable. If it helps any (you or others) the movie is a documentary drama, based on a real person and his story. So the scenes of violence are there only to tell the whole story and the director does not linger on them.
I absolutely hate titillating depiction of violence, suffering, and terror. So horror movies are a no go in my book and I will also never recommend anything that considers such things to be means of a cheap thrill.
Come to think of it, veering back to Blizzard for a bit here, thatâs something I wish Blizzard would think more about. Itâs all well and good to try tackling serious matters in your fantasy universe but then either stick to your guns and make players have to think and feel for the characters or just donât bother.
I recently looted the Krastinov toy on another character and it made me think. Theolen Krastinov commits unspeakable horrors and we, the heroes, finally put him down and lay the desecrated remains of his victims to rest.
Then comes the dungeon revamp and we get to obtain a toy that lets us transform into an undead Krastinov and /yell oh so funny one-liners about his love of torture. Well, there goes any sorrow one might have felt over what happened in Scholomance.
Many instances of such tone deafness are present in the game. However, there are also positives. The questline with Runas from Legion still makes my heart ache a little and I keep Runasâ Nearly Depleted Ley Crystal in my bank to this day.
IDK, I feel like youâre mentioning your partner when youâre asked to come out (heh) and you respond with âsorry nah me and X have plansâ etc.
Itâs also what I mean with mentioning. You donât even always have to do it directly. Iâm sure there are tons of situations where doing so is completely fine in WoW as well.
Take it from another angle. RPing a relationship requires a lot of maturity. In an ADnD game the DM keeps things under control but its not really child friendly. You dont want locks running round RPing sex with their succubus or worse. Or two druids doing the deed in cat and bear form. I would guess the ban stick will be swift and merciless; if you go over the line.
The whole thing would have to be policed. So its better no one does adult themes.
It has been a thing with elves thow. Elves where first trolls who then turned into elves do to the magic of the well, then from nightelfs turned into high elves and from rather pale high elves into the pale/redish bloodelfs and from them then into voidelfs. Elfs are litteraly the one species that has evolved the most over the course of WoW do to there affliction to magical change.
@Kavindria Well sorry but a body shape is not worth an entire race in my opinion. And yes nightelfs have glowing eyes and bloodelfs had green glowing eyes. Magical eyecolours are all over this game and most of them are explained in some way.
I know. Again Iâm just saying that even robust/fat/chubby/beefy humans got an entire race and history and there own traits attached to them to explain there differen apearence even thow they are just humans as well.
I just think some lore would have been neat to it. Certainly a better way then just retconning them in.
Sometimes ambiguity is a good thing because it allows for more freedom of expression. You donât always need to have something blatantly stated or detailed for it to fit into whatever your personal canon is. Just donât be surprised if people donât want to role-play with you or condemn you if you jump the shark too far. I personally just slap people on ignore or avoid them if I find the way they play or the way their character is written as triggering or problematic.
World of Warcraft has an age rating of 12. Nothing in WoW goes near adult themed stories. LGBTQ+ will not be a theme in WoW because the game is not ment to be about people and complex relationships. That what an adult game is ment to be about. You will get good vs evil and thats it. World is cops vs robbers. Kids dont stop to think. Well we need to keep Sexism, ANTI-LGBTQ+ and Skin-Based Racism out of this RP. Only adults think these things.
WoW is not an adult themed game. Its story is for 12 year olds or above. 12 year olds are not thinking about the LGBTQ+ community. Or if a line is sexist or it there is issues with refering to skin colour. Thats how a adult wages political warfare.
The last time i did relationship RP with a not-close friend was when I swore off of it for good.
I was struggling with something at the time and they decided to do a story that was pretty close to what i was going through and it just made me not want to RP that character ever again because now they have to suffer the way I was suffering.
in the end, I RP to get AWAY from real life.
i have 1 close friend who I used to do it with, but they stopped playing WoW and it hasnât really affected me.
Nowadays my characters date each other or are emotionally unavailable.
Ah, yes, gay men and women are complicated. Unlike straight men and women, who are simple and easy to understand. LGBTQ+ is an 18+ issue obviously, as thatâs when people become gay /s
Vampire bloodlines covers LGBTQ+ themes. Thats also why its 18+
12 year olds are under the age of consent. LGBTQ+ and other sexual themes are not to be exposed to 12 year old. If they were WoW would be 18+. NPCâs are fine within limits. WoW is a kids game, with a Lord of the Rings type story.
