Hello.
Currently, to purchase Valor gear we must reach Friendly with the Shado-Pan Assult. The main way to get this rep is to participate in the Throne of Thunder raid. I don’t know - hopefully someone could confirm - but did LFR back in the day also give rep? If so, for alts who don’t raid and otherwise would have gained rep through LFR, there really is little way to get the rep. I appreciate it is just friendly but beside the weekly on the isle there seems no other way to do it.
My question is if you could get through LFR this rep, could we now have some way to gain it other than normal/heroic mode of the raid? Tying Valor to rep feels quite bitter to taste and I wish we didn’t do such things. This is a mostly alt flavoured post but there are a lot of players on mains whodon’t raid but might have done some LFR as well.
thanks,
Balidorf

Well it seems days of farming mobs for rep like in ICC and Firelands in normal mode are back.
Yes you got rep from LFR in original mop
They could set shado-pan monastery dungeon to give rep now since there is no LFR to get it or put rep token to celestial vendor.
That would be nice. Especially if LFR did give rep back in the day.

It did. Helped lot gearing
You can get friendly literally with less than 1 hour of ToT trash farm + one weekly quest in Isle of Thunder.
Maybe people want more than just friendly? It’s a pain atm to farm this stuff on more than 1 character even to friendly for ppl who just pve very casually. Please blizzard just add a way to buy rep for this with ToT trash, celestial tokens or justice points, i mean you can buy the rep for wotlk reputations for justice even though that is much easier to farm with tabards in dungeons.
I don’t get the motive behind this change? Is it for the same reason why you removed the ability to farm conquest cap via random bgs? To get people to play rated bg’s (or in this case TOT nm) because it would be too dead otherwise? Imo is not a good decision and i can imagine this just causing casuals to quit playing rather than playing rated bg’s or ToT bosses.
I completely agree. Without this LFR this rep, for casual players who can hardly raid at normal raid times, it’s basically impossible without a guild. It’s even questionable whether they can get into the raid at all. Blizzard could really do something or create some kind of alternative solution for this, or simply add Raid Finder. I think there would be a lot of players who would be happy about it.

If your selling apple pie but you leave out the apples, it aint no apple pie anymore right? That’s what MoP is without LFR.
On the scale of 1 to 10, 1 being the lowest and 10 being the highest. Mop for me went from a 9.5 back in the day to a 2 now immediately when i had to find out that there was no LFR. This reputation thing is one of the reasons.
But yeah, blizzard likes to have majorities pay for minorities right?
It’s really a shame that you can’t complete a reputation. They removed an option that could and should have coexisted with the Celestials just to please the arrogant people on the forum, without thinking that if everyone can play, everyone wins, especially Blizzard with its subscriptions.
Now, to build reputation, the only possible limit is Friendly. Once you reach Friendly, you have to kill the bosses in ToT or hope to drop the rep token from dailies. Madness.
Doesn’t the Champions of the Thunder King weekly quest also keep giving rep all the way to Exalted?
Yes but only 300 Rep each week
You gain 300 exp. Make you only do this for reach Exalted you need 15 months and half. I don’t this is a good farm way.
It’s indeed kinda wild that we’re soon 4 months into ToT and I’m still not exalted with this faction. I’ve missed a few resets though, but I still have 11-12 clears. Should be exalted in 2 weeks though, I think.
You only need to get Friendly though to be able to buy all the valor items. Which is a thing they changed for classic to compensate for the lack of LFR, originally they were gated across all the rep levels.
