Shadow of Nathreza Affliction Apex talents

I really like the direction of giving Affliction a Dreadlord as its apex talent. Thematically, it fits extremely well with the spec’s identity.

Ulthalesh, the Deadwind Harvester (Affliction’s Artifact weapon in Legion), was itself named after a Dreadlord. That connection ties the spec to Nathrezim lore, so this talent feels cohesive and rooted in terms of class fantasy rather than something new or disconnected. Would be really cool if the “tortured soul” being summoned was Ulthalesh himself.

The only part I’m not fully convinced by is the meteor from Nathreza. It feels slightly disconnected from the Affliction playstyle and overall fantasy.

Would it make more sense for the Dreadlord to cast Carrion Swarm instead? That ability is iconic, fits the Nathrezim identity perfectly, and feels more aligned with the dark, spreading-corruption theme of Affliction.

I completely agree. That’s what we originally had and then they changed. The forums have asked for it to return.

Agreed. When I read a big meteor was part of the apex theme I thought that was more inline with Destro than Afflic.
