In your opinion.
Oh your motto is back!
It’s not like any person with access to these forums can check this conversation and verify what I said.
Also, are you saying it’s my opinion that Patchwerk isn’t useless? Wow, you changed your mind really fast.
In your opinion.
does not help if the settings are wrong, as indicated how big a change is made with siming for different fights.
is not really what i’m talking about there as i know about the possibility to use different setting in sims, that is also said later in my post so that has no value in this, then Zul logs don’t have much of the systems we have now or most of the mechanics can be brute forced because of brutal dps or hps compared to when it was current so many fights and logs would be strenge when using current systems with uldir logs.
it is kinda hard to use data you don’t have to prove something, unless you are trying to reasoning that something is not there, so having no data of that event happening is indicating said event happens at least with enough data not showing said event(tho 1 set of data showing the event is going to ruin it for you as said experiment proves said event happens)(but that is not really important in this as we are not trying to prove anything does not happen).
you do know you make a set of assumption when you run the simulation no matter how you sim you will still need to make a set of assumptions(depending on how close they fight said fight will show how accurate set simulation is), now assuming a patchwork fight in a fight like hivemind and you are going to hit a good deal past the mark, same with assuming no adds in a add heavy fight or massive movement in a fight with very little movement.
so data sets from zul does not work as you first need to assume that there are no corruptions and no essences(2 major parts of the current tier) it would be like shooting at a barn gate from 10 meters away and still missing, as you are assuming major systems are gone when using old data, at least in this scenario you are.
so first you need to get your assumptions as close to reality as possible, and to do that you would need the data that fits reality as closely as possible, else it would be the same as saying i only have logs from ICC so i’m just going to use them, not really going to give men any useful information but i could do it.
Show evidence of said error in settings. The second part I ask for proof.
Versatility: 7.51
Haste: 6.93
Critical Strike: 6.60
Mastery: 4.76
Intellect: 2.73
74.023 DPS
in a light movement fight with 1 boss and 8 min fight
Critical Strike: 18.93
Versatility: 17.20
Haste: 15.89
Mastery: 7.95
Intellect: 6.72
166.959 DPS
for a 2 boss fight with heavy cleave with a 8 min fight
i would argue that is a pretty big difference
edit: changed 6 min to 8 min(as that was what i simined at)
Simc there is no movement for stat weights. Its just the default boss fight. Also to stop people like you I ran it in Ask mr Robot. As given above changing 12% haste to 12% crit is higher DPS wise for both ST and boss fights with adds. For [Ellipsìs] gear at the time of sim’ing. All of this is above.
[Ellipsìs] Stat Weights current gear SimC Version Weekly (830-02) May 27 2020
Versatility 10.74
Critical Strike 10.64
Haste 8.77
Mastery 8.24
Intellect 4.29
- 1 point of Versatility will increase your DPS by 10.74
This means that both sims (simc and ask mr robot) think that crit is worth more than haste. Given that we are dropping haste which has a value and taking crit that has a little more value. The expected increase is small. Both ST and MT in Ask Mr. Robot increase dps wise. This is corroboration between the two sim’s. Now if you change simc from defaults you have to jusitify said changes and prove they are necessary. That they lead to accurate results.

Thus haste = crit does not apply to [Ellipsìs] but [Ellipsìs] advises you too. We can infer crit>haste by a small amount, on gear that is following haste >> crit as a rule. simc Versatility > crit. Ask mr robot crit sims a little higher. Thus as per the method website you have to take into account stat weights.
Thus and the fact no one here gets. Ask Mr Robot.
45% Haste, 38% Critical Strike, 25% Mastery, 4% Versatility stock. ST 92,515 DPS MT 126,579 DPS
After the 12% haste to 12% crit change.
41% Haste, 41% Critical Strike, 25% Mastery, 4% Versatility ST 93,220 DPS MT 127,509 DPS
Both are the same but 12% crit to 12% haste is always higher. Remember standard Dev. Maximums are lower for 12% haste to 12% crit. Simc see vers and crit as higher.
You sound like a robot unaware of its surroundings mate.
Take a break. Have a Kit Kat.
In my opinion stat weights are half dead anyway, there’s too many gear systems messing up stats. Us lucky dpsers get to use raidbots com and its lovely tools.
You sim patchwork as in 0 movement because the aim of most raid fights is to never stop your rotation even when you do have to move.
Granted down time effects shadow priest more than most but in my opinion any bosses with down time increases the value of haste as it allows you to get back up to higher void form stacks quicker to increase your crit and haste. This is just based on my thoughts as I’m not robo crazy enough to go do a load of sims to prove it.
Keep up your crazy work though, very entertaining.
PS Healing parses are a joke
Ya’ll should make yourselves a favour and stop trying to debate with an automated response machine. Jesus, it was tiring to go through all the thread…
So tiring.
In your opinion. = act like a human being and have manners. Stop person attacks and debate the topic. In debates if you lose and you lack culture, you attack the person you are debating. Try to play the man and not the ball, so to speak.
Having an opinion is one thing, trying to prove it is another. If you can’t prove it the debate can’t move on in your favor until you do.
Nobel prizes are handed out to people that can prove what they are stating as fact and not to people that think they are right.
Hello!
Thanks for contacting this elemental shaman, unfortunately, we can’t find the issue you’re asking about in our database.
For future queries, avoid using generic words and we’ll do our best to assist you!
Thanks and have a good day,
Imagine asking for simple stats to look for and getting a 90+ reply crap fiesta.
I always look for crit and haste because it works for me. It seems to work for others too. If you want to stack vers or mastery then by all means.
Op didnt ask for a “nobel prize” worthy analysis. He just wanted to find out what works for people.
Pretty much this, tried to keep it simple for a new player (Whilst still explaining a little bit of what’s going on so they understand why they might see other things or have a better idea how to move forward from the basics)
Then this happens…
Someone please stack vers and mastery and let me know how good it works…
The average age of a U.S. gamer is 35, the average number of years a U.S. gamer has been playing games is 13, and only 29% of the gamer population is under 18 years old.
The average age of the UK gamer is 28. Strangely, 51% of the 36 to 50s play games, and that number is growing.
Nice that you think that we all need it dumbed down. Many of us have degrees in advanced subjects like mathematics, electronics, physics and computers. Maybe you should up your game to the average gamer. Not argue we are all thick and lazy.
This is the original post mate. Re-read it and focus on the questions that he asked. If a guy thats new to the class is asking if, as shadow priest, he should go for versatility then i think we all can agree he doesnt have that much of a clue, and thats completely fine…thats why hes asking right?..with no offense OP.
Answer has been given. For any kind of pve content go for haste/crit items. There is no “if” or “but” its plain and simple…
And after you kidnaped this topic to make it some kind of personal vendetta against ellipsìs , which was same in legion btw idk where you went after that, im kinda confused what is your goal and whats the point you trying to make mate?
Like you said it yourself, many of us arent complete morons, so why do you come in and suggest ppl to go and sim their characters because they should maybe go for versa or mastery…on a shadow priest… i mean realy?
Also…

This must be the most “wtf” response ive read on the forums recently …
Why do you take everything personaly…why not have a normal civil conversation on the subject…sigh

Pretty sure he’s trolling, a human being can’t be this dumb and annoying. Either way, he’s going straight to ignore.
