Since I can’t properly report this in-game, I am posting it here instead.
Just a few minutes ago, I was kicked from a Timewalking Dungeon (as the tank, again). This is becoming far too frequent, and I am requesting that Blizzard/World of Warcraft team finally do something about it.
The dungeon was The Necrotic Wake, and we were at the Surgeon Stitchflesh encounter. Nobody said or asked anything about the encounter mechanics, so from my point of view that meant everyone already knew what to do.
In short, this encounter has mechanics very similar to the recent boss encounter in Windrunner Spire / Derelict Duo. The mechanic causing the problem was Meat Hook (The Necrotic Wake), which is similar to Heaving Yank (Windrunner Spire).
I positioned the add near the platform where Surgeon Stitchflesh stands so that when the add cast Meat Hook, players could easily position themselves and pull the boss down so we could damage and kill him.
As the encounter started, the first add was nuked so quickly that I had to type in chat asking everyone to slow down their DPS because the add needs to stay alive and hook the boss down first.
The second add spawned, and the first player failed the mechanic. Then the second player failed. Then the third. And so on.
One add became two. Two became three.
The adds eventually started hooking each other because they were stacked together. At that point, I explained that we needed to kill all the adds except one. I marked the add that should stay alive and clearly stated that the others needed to be killed. I even pointed out that the mechanic was similar to the one in Windrunner Spire / Derelict Duo (the hook mechanic), yet they continued to fail it repeatedly.
Eventually, the adds started killing the group because we were now dealing with multiple adds at once. Since everyone had already burned their cooldowns, they couldn’t recover and dps adds down.
Some players then started claiming that the mechanic was bugged. While the encounter was still ongoing, I continued trying to explain the mechanic to them. After several minutes, only the hunter and I were still alive. I told the hunter to use Feign Death, and I would use Shadowmeld so we could reset the encounter and start over.
The moment I finished typing that sentence in chat, I was removed from the group.
As a result, I am now forced to sit through a 30-minute Deserter debuff and cannot play for 30 minutes.
This is not the first time this has happened to me.
Because of other players’ ignorance, unwillingness to listen, refusal to follow correct instructions, and abuse of the vote-kick system, I am repeatedly removed from dungeons despite doing everything I can to help the group complete the encounter successfully.
This situation has become infuriating and exasperating.
I have reported this issue many times over the years from different characters, yet nothing has ever been done. This type of player behavior, combined with Blizzard’s inaction, needs to be addressed and corrected because it is completely unacceptable.
At no point did I create any disruption, grief the group, insult anyone, or refuse to participate. Quite the opposite, I provided guidance, explained the mechanics multiple times, marked the correct target, and continued trying to help the group complete the encounter. Yet I am the one being punished.
This has to stop.
Since Blizzard’s reporting system is flawed, and I cannot properly report the players responsible through the in-game system after being kicked, I am reporting this here instead.
I expect Blizzard to investigate this incident and sanction the misuse of the vote-kick and reporting systems. Abusing these systems to remove players who are actively trying to help the group is unacceptable and, in my opinion, is a violation of Blizzard’s Code of Conduct. If Blizzard expects players to follow the rules, then those who deliberately misuse Blizzard’s own systems should also be held accountable.
