It’s boring, it’s like bootleg sims except you can’t really do anything in there.
So, I’ve put some stuff in a humorous manner (like xalatath pics over my character’s bathtub) here and there - I even kinda like the look and….
What now?
Am I supposed to stand there and gawk and redecorate all day or am I supposed to RP - I even got a room with 2 beds and a chair but it’s not that interactive.
IDK - seems like a waste of budget - and once the novelty fades most people will either largely ignore it or some will do nothing else than run around the sanctuary of the “neighborhood”
”If you don’t care, why do you complain - ignore it”
Except I even read now some devs claim it’s a new “pillar” of WoW.
Which means a lot of budget will be redirected to this waste of time.
I had low expectations but I’m still disappointed.
It majorly always were. And annoyingly enough there is so many more pressing matters being neglected now.
Yep and wows gameplay has been m+, raiding and rated pvp for quite some time now.
Compared to any end game activities it does sound boring to just exist inside some building and stare ones creation, especially one that serves no purpose. I said it should have some games in it or some purpose to be there. I would try housing for 5 minutes and be bored with it.
Exactly the reason why I am not buying Midnight. Housing being the focal point of the expansion is hugely worrying. There’s only so much decoration you can collect before it gets incredibly dull. Blizzard will have to work hard to add activities and events to make it somewhat entertaining, otherwise, the expansion will be nothing more than collecting game.
That’s your perspective. I know players who can say the exact same thing about PvP or M+ - should the Devs abandon them because they’re not a feature everyone likes?
Besides, I don’t agree with the last statement. A lot of budget was used to create the system, but now that it’s in place it only need new assets, which will be created anyways because they’re needed to create new zones. Maybe new housing styles and neighborhood biomes will be created, but that’s nowhere near as resource consuming as building such a system from scratch.
Never understood this “if I dont like it then nobody should” mentality either.
I am more interested in raids and m+ so housing at best would be a side activity for me. If I grow hooked to it, great. If I will find it boring, aight can just ignore it and do something else what I like. All the power to people who enjoy it.
There will be Endvours in future and more levels to unlock the stuff. Also in time we will get more stylish stuff for each race.
This is not something about power level - just to enjoy and “time killer” or “another activitiy for casual players”.
While it is fun - it is not for everyone and after some time most of the plots etc. will be abandoned because if you are not into the stuff you will not find it enjoyable. But in the other hand there are people that like pvp and pvp only or pve and pve only etc. and are not interested in new raid/battlegorund etc.
My entire problem is that I couldn’t build in Silverpine Forrest next to SFK and Pyrewood village. Or any other place and have my own creepy castle/mannor. But ech it is what it is.
“Oh no, I don’t enjoy some aspect of the game that have had overwhelmingly positive feedback, so i have to go and whine on the forums about a feature that blizzard put up a extra department for so it wouldn’t interfere with game development”
If this is a waste of time, that 2nd team wouldn’t have been put into work on the game, they would just have been cut out to save activation more money if housing was not a thing.
Personally i find PvP and M+ to be a complete waste of time. But i know people enjoy it so it’s a great feature to the game since it brings more players.
I have a fenced off arboretum with a fountain and gazebo with some shrub beds and flower beds lol. It took me right back to my days of designing my own garden and wishing I had the money to waste on them.
stop using this bad faith argument - pvp hasn’t been an important part of wow in forever - it’s imbalance, and pretty much abandoned to the point of being a tiny side game.
housing is literally opposite of everything wow has been so far - you are acting delusional and it’s not a problem of “oh i dont like 1 part of the game”
housing is a sign of a shift into catering to casuals unable to actually play the game so instead they can sit in their houses. IF you can’t see long term implications of that–
