So about the housing

I personally am a bit lost with housing. I watched it a bit on twitch and to me it’s the most useless feature I have ever seen in wow. I am not against housing but in its current version it feels so pointless… Sure you’re gonna spend few hours and few tokens on decor. What then? Why would you ever go back to that zone? Man I can’t wrap my head around housing.

I think people didn’t realize how bored they were with the “new zones, 3 new raids, 8 new dungeons” formula of wow expansions so now that they have something new to do, even if it’s pretty mid, they’re like ‘holy so there can be more to wow?’

I might be wrong tho

I have to be honest once the rose tinted glasses come off its not really anything that spectacular. Though I will give credit that it was a really good attempt and to some degree they pulled it off nicely.

Is it evergreen ? Depends, I can’t see myself constantly breaking down to rebuild over and over again. That would just be boring and I suspect that is exactly where PH is going to end up for the majority. In my guild only a handful have even gone to claim a stake. Most are going to ignore it and don’t see any purpose to it. I suspect because there is power “benefit” for them. Other’s have done the same as you , just chucked down a few pieces haphazardly and moved on.

I don’t see this becoming a pillar of the game it is really just a side activity like collecting transmogs etc. Selling it as an expansion feature is going to end up exactly the same way as Dragonflights - dragonriding. Once it is done it is done.

except dragonriding is useful and despite its shortcomings it’s too fast and well - beneficial to ignore xD

I think it’s to do with how they are only showing us housing and talking of nothing but housing making it seem like if they are putting all their eggs in one basket.

I think that they need to start selling something interesting for the rest of us soon aswell instead of talking too much about houses.

It is mostly to capture the ffxiv crowd that is discontent with current expansion of ffxiv .now of course wow could not make their story better so they instead came up with housing :dracthyr_comfy_sip: .

But many people in wow are enjoying housing as far as I can tell from talking with people . Only time will tell if people like in the long run

good lord the amount of complaining is just astounding, housing is OPTIONAL, there are LOADS of other things to do other than housing,i HIGHLY doubt you’ve completed everything there is to do in WoW, so go out there and try something new, or play something else.

Well lets put it like this, PvP is optional aswell right. How would you like if we had entire expansion marketed for PvP and every news and talk about the expansion would be something about PvP. Now I would love it, something tells me you might be annoyed.

Houses are indeed optional, it is also fluff type new content like transmogs. Content which wow has never been about mainly, the game was always about raids and pvp and later with m+ added to it.

People are annoyed of only seeing about housing, well because they are not interested of it and wow is not about housing as much as its about m+, raiding and pvp.

the fact that people think that housing is the only major part of the midnight expansion tells me more than i need to know about those who complain, seeing as there is LOADS of other things that were announced, the reason it became such a big thing is because the PLAYERS themselves made it a big thing since it’s been a sought out feature for years now, so your reply there is mute.

Seems to be when every news is about houses, even to a point that they have to market pre-order for people with it to gain early access to their housing spots. So whole early access is about housing.

Anyways, people want to see other stuff developed aswell than system to be married or build houses in this game.

good lord….when a company sees that it’s CUSTOMERS, meaning us the players, make it such a thing big, then ofcourse their going to try to make it bigger, but the fact still remains that it is US the players that are making it such a big deal to begin with, not them.

Yeah thats what I also put together some months ago in another of similar threads like this.

They are marketing housing like crazy in hopes of trying lure new blood into the game but I think it’s just temporary, they come and build their houses and then if theyre not interested in m+, raids or pvp or if these aspects are bad cause they were neglected then they will leave.

Wow is 20 years old game, and its not likely it gains much new players for this genre what it is, its main customers are more likely to be its current playerbase in future aswell.

Breathe buddy. Trying to discuss any topic with people who are emotionally attached to a video game is just great.

People dare to complain about MY GAME?

Chill out bud.

If housing turns out to be a huge success and brings new/returning players to wow, amazing. They divided wow into 17 classic versions, retail, remix, hardcore so we need more players more than ever.
It just feels like an enormous copium xD

Also the type of crowd that I dont see going in pvp to inflate mmr so no use for me, I would love seeing players returning though from remixes and dozen versions of classics and everything other extra they spread playerbase on. I’ve seen the same hunter 5 games row now this morning that I played my holy priest to 2100 in shuffles, just same 10 people over and over

That was my firt though too - they did great job on setting-up decoration interface itself, but at the end of the day it’s just static… Nothiness . It would really need at least some interaction with player/some life/some activity, at least I expected some useful functionality like ability to add profession worstations/functional campfires/anything.

Neightboor events can add some life to it when it jumps in, but still feedback-to-player sapect feels underwhelming now.
