Besides getting a single 2H weapon from a World Quest in week one I’ve only got 1H weapons so far. I mean sure, could get one crafted now but except for that it’s Daggers everywhere. I’ve even got the full set of one-handed weapons from the Delves, which I never wanted, already.
On the other hand, I have a good dozen daggers… daggers. I mean, it’s great that Wowhead & Co. describe daggers as a real 1H alternative, but is that really what you wanted? A Survival Hunter with two 1H daggers just so you can transmog them into axes to live out your little Rexxar fantasy?
It’s a shame that you couldn’t just enjoy what I consider to be the best spec as it was, and that you wouldn’t rest until this completely pointless change found its way into the game.
Yes, I love it! I got a 2-hander in the vault sadly, but I’m thinking of crafting daggers when I get the needed crests ^___^ It might not be the best iteration of melee Survival, but I do love dual-wielding.
Dual wielding has little to do with the worst sides of survival at the moment. That credit goes to Boomstick and Flamefang Pitch. The dual wield is the only upside to all the changes.
Honestly, daggers or not daggers doesn’t change anything. Transmog is here and the fast attack speed means the animations are quick and constant, that’s something I like.
They could just make lethal barbs a normalized proc and any 1 hander would fit.
What bugs me more is how they don’t plan to make left hand matter aside auto attacks. A 2% agility gain will close the gap a bit for Sentinel, but it won’t make it equivalent either.
They never managed to make DW and Two handers equivalent since TLK for the same spec, frost DK and Monks are still the victims of that decades after.
Which is a shame, because damn hunter survival looks great with two weapons, but I don’t like pack leader’s visual identity.
