At least either 1. reinstate heirlooms or 2. grant a complete sub WQ level set of green gear as a reward for reaching max level. Just so we don’t feel like lemons. You do it for returning players, why not for those that actually did something?
I get catchup gear for all my alts by buying veteran gear with undercoins that you get from.delves.
Also nice transmog ![]()
Yeah… I ran out of those about 9 alts ago unfortunately. I think, actually, this “boost to 80” XP nerf is all about pushing the catch up gear event that is doubtless coming in the prepatch…
Fairly sure you get full 645 when you transfer the character from remix to live.
Or is the leveling crazy fast somewhere else than remix now?
Yeah. You can level from 70 to 80 doing about 4 timewalking dungeons.
Simply go around the world doing any world quests that reward gear, or get some basic crafted equipment.
-=EDIT=-
Or buy from the Auction House. It’s full of BoEs between 597 and 645.
Heirlooms need to be brought back to life again and as a start I would remove any costs associated with upgrading them and just automatically upgrade all the heirlooms we have to max level during every second season of an xpac.
They no longer work as a gold sink, it is not worth upgrading them. They no longer work as a Timewarped Badges sink, as there is so much new vendor timewalking stuff nobody sane would ever use 800 or 1000 badges to upgrade 1 track of an item.
Gets even harder to get stuff completed for All the Things seeing how there’s bunch of objectives in Hallowfall which requires player to be below 80. ![]()
This!
I leveled up a mage using Chromie time in Northrend, and then just plucked herbs around Dorne for a day and hit level 80, and I have 300 ilvl now, with no means to even do WQs for upgrades because mobs just two-shot me.
And I’m not spending an insane amount of gold on the AH for some greens either.
Bring back heirlooms, or some simple gear catch up mechanic for alts.
They could also give option to reduce xp gain and get gear by playing normally.
This would be for those who would like to take their time and experience older content without instantly overleveling everything.
No, stopping xp entirely does not work. It removes all sense of progression. I always add this as disclaimer since someone will say it otherwise.
The solution for the next expansion should be to stop the massive ilvl inflation. One ilvl for new level 90, and only one if you do m+, mythic raids or any other endlevel content. There is really no need to reward players with higher ilvl; or at least not with a difference like right now.
I honestly would support this.
The amount of ilvls you get on every tier is just a waste, because people will just upgrade a piece to max possible level anyways.
The ilvls in between are just pointless (as is the entire gear upgrading system) except perhaps on the highest difficulties.
Didn’t checked that yet only saw a video in tiktok about that, is it much faster even than a remix leveling with maxed out exp?
It’s ridiculously fast on retail right now.
I leveled in one day by just picking up herbs and doing guild crafting commissions for Treatises…
I didn’t do a SINGLE quest on Dorne, just crafting and leveled from 68 → 80 in less than a day with this.
Starts to smell like another incoming level squish.
Probs after we get to 100 again, which is gonna be in TLT.
Unfortunately this wouldn’t work because we need ilvl inflation during an expansion to give players the sense of progress from one tier/season to the next. I do agree however that curently inflation is simply too much. Many of us have made various proposals on how to reduce ilvl jumps while not feeling that we don’t progress enough from week to week.
Good. I mean the story is crap and you can leave it behind quickly
If your “progress” is an ilvl jump the game lacks progress. I mean if all that matters in endgame is getting +x on stats the design is plain bad.
What alternative do you propose for a progress system that can last 5-6 months with numerical progress being noticeable every week? The game has 3 progress systems: ilvl on equipment, reputations/renowns and collections. That’s it. And for the majority, the last 2 don’t even matter.
