SoM Transfers

You can, but only for money.
But at least, it´s still possible.

The moment, when they close paid transfers to a realm you know, they are going to kill it…

How do you transfer your character to current WOTLK? I am on Ironfoe SoM with one of my chars, wanna get it over to Wrath… I can only go to Dreadnaught (SoM) from Ironfoe?

Not possible

Was open in US for some hours (US does always test everything for us ), and was disabled then due to bugs
Atm ALL FCT in era are disabled

Aren’t they working on allowing both factions on Era PvP realms?

At this time, we have a bug preventing some transfers to a PvP realm where you already have a character of the opposite faction. We intend to fix this as soon as possible.

This is a huge change that should be mentioned anywhere - a blue post or something like this, imho.

But yes, i saw this line, and was wondering what they want to say with it.
Either they really want to allow both factions on one realm, or there was an issue if someone tried to do it - transfer was aborted, chars in the nether, whatever.

We will see as soon as they fixed the bug.

But if the first case is true - they want to allow both factions - it´s only a VERY small step to allow 50 chars on one realm, and then they really could kill all other realms except Pyrewood and Firemaw…

It was open here as well  I could have transferred to Pyrewood.

Yes, but only to Era. Not Wrath.

I am pretty sure it is a bug in WotLK only. But just as Blizzard completely forgot about EU they have also long time forgotten RP realms and ERA+SOM in general :frowning:

So… first Blizzard doesn’t give us a German Season realm and now we don’t even get to transfer to German Era realms? Awesome, thanks for nothing.

What did you expect?

They only offer FCT from ALL (former) german realms to Pyrewood Village and Firemaw.
They don´t even care about the RP tag
Oh, and there are no german realms in era anymore anyway.
All english.
Because we ALL speak english.

They just didn´t kill the era realms (yet) because they didn´t care enough about era.
Will happen - soonTM…

I did expect this. I still don’t like it.

This…
They are kind of doing things half way to keep some illusion of that era right now is like vanilla when it comes to “one faction only”, but the reality is that more or less everyone has chars on both factions right now.

50 char per server with both factions possible is the only good option to go from where we are right now.
Merging all servers and other stuff would be a positive ofc. Having the gehennas cluster left dead with returning players not caught up on whats happening ending up on a dead cluster is not good. But yeah thats a sidenote compared to the char / faction limit atm.

Merging all realms would be pretty negative and a bad idea, of course

Edit:
At least the RP realms shouldn’t be merged with the other realms, and the german and so on realms should remain their own cluster
But i suspict if they start merging, they‘ll just merge everything

I think he means indirectly. For example, the majority of EU SoM players were alliance. The likely situation is they will only be allowed to Ashbringer. This realm is underpopulated and 97% Horde. They’re essentially moving Alliance characters from one graveyard to another.

This is either incompetence or indirectly forcing the Alliance players to pay for either a faction change when it arrives or pay to transfer to another playable realm.

The last issue being that no players will genuinely play Ashbringer because they’re probably already settled on a current Wotlk realm, as a result, again if they want to continue with their current guild or friends they will yet again be forced to pay.

This realm is full.
The only valid issue here is the faction balance.

But people who call a „full“ realm „underpopulated“ are part of the problem why realms had to be locked and might not be unlocked again anytime soon.

Fun fact on EU servers:
SOM PvE: No transfers are available.
SOM PvP: You can still transfer to Dreadnaught (WotLK), even Blizzard say it was bugged.

The realm is nowhere near full, and I know so because I play my Horde character there, and it is literally a graveyard compared to Firemaw. There’s nothing happening anytime from 7am to 4pm. Even in an evening it feels like a ghost town. For Alliance it’ll quite literally be switching one graveyard for another.

Yes, you are part of the problem.

Firemaw is a mega realm, which shouldn’t exist

It’s off-topic, but not really. I think Firemaw feels dead too. Whatever your make-a-wish solution would be, the vast majority of the community want to be able to login and find groups for anything near instantly, especially those of us who play mostly outside of peak hours. I play often outside peak hours and the reason I play Firemaw instead of Ashbringer now as a main is Firemaw actually has people online outside of peak times.

If you like dead realms that’s fine, no issue at all. But you’re a very small minority clinging to it. Nevertheless, we’re talking about the situation there for Alliance, and that situation doesn’t exist.

But there’s plenty of other threads you can use to insult people who play different hours than you and therefore like a busy realm so they can partake in group activities, this one is in relation to SoM transfers.
