I feel like they will action people doing the /me spits on x emotes afterwards since it’s not an official emote… But I feel like people will just move to using /cough instead
You can do /rude too
Probably the laziest choice. (As always)
Cheers.
Good change.
Hopefully it will apply to Retail as well.
That emote does more harm than it does good.
What if i park my giant bear rear end on player corpse and /fart ? is that politically inappropriate?
People talking about how this is a stupid step. It’s a step, it’s not the end of the journey. There’s one common truth - a community is a result of the game they’re playing. People constantly talk about how the community is toxic and all that… but in order to fix toxicity, the game has to change. And removing /spit on a person isn’t THE solution. But is but one of many steps.
To be fair… who even used /spit? Especially in a non-toxic way…?
Probably a macro of /me spits on [target] will work tho, worth a try.
It is the most frequently requested emote for removal.
Makes sense.
I remember adopting Dottie and getting spit on
Good no more receiving unfair spit because I wanted to get back imp in a ball and tbc hearthstone portal and mount and receiving /spit from most of the time angry russians players when they killed me they still need the feel to lower themself and have that kind of behavior ! Good riddance !
What’s the second most requested ?
/fart ?
Cheers.
I’m not really bothered either way, but was there a use of this emote that wasn’t negative? I can see why they’d remove it honestly as it serves no positive purpose. It is an emote that exists exclusively to show to another person you are being negative towards them.
The biggest thing WoW needs vs toxicity is actual mods and GMs but heck, it’s a small start I suppose?
I don’t think it really helps that people have used it as a way to be unpleasant to other players buying things from the store or earning free mounts via the six month sub.
Does /fart still work?
its weird they do this to “censor”
but some bots start to blame anyone with a female character and include vulgar language
if they(the other person) screw up/wipe on mechanics lmao
yet never get their acc suspended permanently
can we ban them next please?
No other emote has been used in that way to attack others, though I look forward to certain streamers encouraging people to /fart on other players for having store items, that seems so comical.
I personally don’t care if people use emotes like that, I just find them sad individuals who are raging at the wrong target.
I’ve been in PvP where people have macroed all sorts of emotes into abilities. It just makes me laugh, the intent is clearly to rile the opposition but I don’t care.

In guilds for instance. In a banter way.

Yes it will. Not to mention other emotes that can be used in the same fashion. Needless to say t-bagging.
My guild uses the ./spit emote as an greetings, it defines who we are, our identity.
I mean what thoes the RP in RPG stands for?

Then the issue lies on Blizzard not punishing said individuals. However im not suprised given they dont check any language ingame and have their “totally awesome and totally not automated silence system do it”.
I mean im absolutely fine that we, as the community, monitor our languages ourselves but if there are very clear boundaries overstepped one shouldnt have to wait until 5 (or whatever) people report someone to get him automatically silenced for a small duration. A report via the ticket system should be handled and a bann served from the get go.

A guildie used to do /spit then /lick on me every raid.
People have spat on Azshara or Sylvanas or < insert disliked character here >.
It was a fun way to get auto killed.
