What kind of retarded game design has it necessary to KILL the Windows Process (the game client) in order to continue playing with another character maybe, while the game decides in its own time what to do with the impaled character.

To answer your question more directly, some twink guilds still raid old content by locking themselves to the correct level (in this case 80) and then running the raid. Also, ICC has been soloable since Cata for most classes, easily since Panda.

A hole in the ground that swallows you is a bug. You’re reporting a level 80 raid being too hard for a 120 with 390 gear. That ain’t a bug, that’s a git gud.

To be fair some of these things old fights could do with a pass to stop things like this happening when soloing.

Usually if the only character alive becomes disabled then the whole fight will end and the boss will reset. That is the correct response to this, not being stuck and forcing a user to close down WoW.

Don’t expect a lot of sympathy here though, and I’d suggest reporting it as a bug.

If you create a group, list it on lfg tool and the leave party, after 1 min you get ported out of the raid. The level squish did make older raids take longer, which is extremely stupid, but that being said, there are ways to free yourself from this.

How exactly does the elf having green text have ANY bearing on your inability to kill a boss you outgear by 40 levels and 290 ilvls? A boss which people have been soloing for years?

The only way this situation could arise is if you are so geared (as you are) that the damage is non existent, in which case the boss will die in seconds. For the record I was doing that most recently on a lvl 114ish holy paladin with about 200 ilvl. She managed to kill it before bonespike. So yeah, actually hit it.
