Warlock pets was nothing but glorified DoTs with in game body for far too long.
In most case scenario we only use demons like Voidwalker or Felhunter for non demo locks in 99% of the time.

Imp is almost forgotten after few levels you spend with him after you got him since during leveling void is far more reliable. His dispel is barely needed in most scenarios and he is used in very-very speciefic fights where dispel may be needed.

Voidwalker is limited to be a leveling slave, with zero utility beyond tanking, and sometimes that role is hard to Voidwalker due to poor stat staling of that demon.

Succubus that was go to PvP pet is now barely usable in pvp due to her low HP and poor toolkit that doesn’t fit modern wow. In PvE she is beyond useless.

- Additionally, grimoire of sacrifice with succubus even more useless, we get a seduction… another fear, that needs to be channeled, that doesn’t affected by the “Nightmare” talent - like what the fel blizzard?

Felhunter is a go to demon since interrupts was and will be the most needed utility in the most content. It is very useful in PvE and in PvP, it is hard to find a situation where Felhunter won’t be needed or utility of other demons will be better.
And there is Elefant in the room - Felguard.
First no other class in game renders 4/5 of type of abilities or utility useless just by excising.
Felguard should be an exclusive demonology choice, but not the exclusive option.
Felguard design is not synergizes with Warlock and Demo toolkit well:
- Legion strike healing reduction is pointless in PvE.
- Felstorm as an aoe Ability doesn’t provide shields via soul leech, and this is the only * ability we can enhance in our Demo talents.
- Being the only viable choice goes against the idea of demonology, spec is not called “Warlock and his Felguard friend”.
- In the lore Felguards are the cannon fodder of the legion, not the elite troops, so presenting felguard as an “exclusive” choice for Demo is the same as say that pigs from elvyn forest should be an Exotic pet for BM.
I suggest update and redesign Demons to fit the modern wow and retain their identity.
Since warlocks is limited to only five demons and their archetypes and unlike hunters doesn’t have vast arrays of pets to choose from, these five archetypes must be more powerful, with more impactful abilities and toolkit than hunter pets.
Overall changes:
- Bring Damage of non felguard demons on par with Felguard. Imp should be treated differently since he doesn’t has an auto attack. Make warlock share with demons all movement increasing abilities, making them more useful in dynamic situations. Increase HP of Succubus, felhunter and Felguard to 75% of Max Warlock HP, HP of Imp should be on the same level since he is a range demon.
Imp:
- Increase range of Imp Fire bolt to 55yd. Give Imp back the HP buff from Classic Era, and change his dispel to ability that would remove 1-2 negative effects from warlock and return them to the Attacker.
- Demo specific changes: Add passive that would increase the energy pool of wild imps by 20% or give one additional shot of fel fire bolt for them, and make Imp fire bolt apply small fire DoT that would stack on target over time to the max of 10 stacks.
Voidwalker:
- General changes: Give voidwalker back his Disarm, add passive that would increase soul leech generation by 25%, increase Void walker HP to 100% of warlock HP, increase armor of Void by 25-40%. Add additional passive effect for “Shadow Bulwark” that damage taken by the voidwalker can be partially reflected back at enemy - chance that damage would be reflected increased significantly while Shadow bulwark is active.
- Demo specific changes: Make soul leech generation possible via AoE effects while voidwalker is active demon.
Succubus:

General Changes: Return her abilities 8~10yd range, she has a whip after all, Add stackable bleed effect on her lash of pain - Bleed damage should restore succubus HP and shields. Redesign whiplash from slow, to ability that would spread bleed effect from her main target to every enemy in 15-20yd range around main target. Make her invisibility uninterruptable by damage from Soul link.

Demo specific changes: Give her an effect of Pleasure Through Pain talent that was removed in Dragonflight:

Pleasure Through Pain: While your Succubus is active, your Shadow damage is increased by 15% and the cast time of your Shadow Bolt is reduced by 0.5 sec.

Felhunter:
- General changes: Remove interrupt from Felhunter and give “Spell lock as the baseline spell for all warlocks”, remove “Grimoire: felravaher” from Demo. Add passive that every time Felhunter dispels the positive effects from the enemy, it restores 10% of max mana to the warlock (this should help with mana issues when warlock would have to heal himself or pet using new talent for drain life). Add new spell that would copy magical spell or ability that enemy used, second activation of ability would release the copied spell. Abilities of Bosses in dungeons and rains should be copied with decreased efficiency. Put devour magic on autocast.
- Grimoire of sacrifice: give new copy spell to the warlock instead of spell lock that was given as baseline.
- Demo specific changes: Add passive that would give Dreadstalkers chance to use Dreadlash again, when dreadstalkers would attack target using auto attacks while Felhunter is active demon.
