Tabard of Mastery and classic-era

It would seem that SOM players transfering to classic-era dont get to keep their Tabards of Mastery. I dont know if this is intended or if its a mistake. Are you not suppose to get to keep it? if not, its quite a shame. its a neat little keep-sake from our time in SOM.

I made a ticket too but blizzard robot auto-closed it refering me to “restore an item”. Gee, thanks!

That being said, I had a great time in SOM and i hope to keep playing with you all in Era, preferably with our Tabards intact

It probably isn’t added to the Wotlk database and therefore after you transfer that item_id the tabard has does not exist and as a result it’s gone. Wouldn’t hold your breathe for a fix or having it resorted.

Thanks for the response, but I’m not talking about SOM to wotlk but about SOM to ERA transfers.

It should be possible to add to the ERA database. We saw lots of [Book of Deathstones: Skeletal Artifact] drop in Naxxramas on ERA last night after a transfer from SOM, so the database has been updated in ERA already.

Yea, it’s certainly not a technical restriction/impossibility to add the item to the Era-database. I’ve also seen SOM items in ERA.

So the only two reasons I could see is:

  • They keeping Tabards as SOM-only for “purity-reasons” or something. (Which is rediculous when its a cosmetic item).

  • It was a technical blunder, born out of Classic-ERA and SOM being run by the janitor-intern.

… I’m leaning towards the 2nd explanation.

It’s not a technical issue. The item just hasn’t been added to the database for wotlk or Era, so when you transferred it doesn’t exist and thus was deleted. There is also no technical restriction regarding adding it, they’ve just forgotten.
Other than making a ticket/suggestion ingame on SoM/Era/Wrath and keeping the thread alive so they see it nothing can be done rather than unfortunately.
