I think that’s a valid point. Tyrante mentions that she want’s to know why Elune abandoned the nelfs that can be foreshadowing that something is wrong with Elune.
I mean, No. She’s not wrong just because she abandoned those obnoxious little smurfs.
Even if we take the whispers seriously, I don’t understand why the “three lies” would be the important part of this one. Wouldn’t the important thing be that the subject is supposedly serving the masters?
Apart from that it seems quite tinfoily to me to jump from “something the Lich King might have said could have been a lie” to “Every King is a Boy King and Bolvar’s lie has been prophesized!”.
And of course that’s the type of people who still think there is some greater meaning behind Sylvanas’ every word…
Nah, have fun, but this will never amount to as much as fan fiction.
We can say that about anyone with an agenda, and to be honest, I don’t think anyone in their right mind would claim that Bolvar is an indisputed beacon of truth. He is the Lich King after all.
As for the theory, I am not convinced. I think it is fairly certain that the “boy king” in question is Anduin, it’s the person who seems the easiest to be connected with the boy king reference. There are also other kings we can otherwise attempt to connect, like Mekkatorque.
Or Dagran Thaurissan II, who is 6 years old in BfA.
It’s obviously King Mrgl-Mrgl. Did you know that he isn’t even a Murloc? First lie right there!
well I just came up whit a different theory, the boy king is not anduin, wrathion or the lichking at all, but N´zoth is the boy king.
why you say, well first of all N´zoth is serving a master, the void lord and I think there is several of them, considering they fought eachother also. he also referes to Azhara as queen, meening he is a king so to speak.
so his lies.
first lie was when he gave us the gift of N´zoth, what acutaly was a curse not a gift at all.
second was when he literaly lured us in to fight azhara and got us to belive that we could stop her from braking the chains, even though he used us to brake them.
3rd is about to come, whit the new raid, where he makes us think we defeated him, but if we do so, we most likely let loose someone way more dangerous. the Blind queen most likely.
I think the blind queen, and the scepter of bones is Talanji, I mean she was blinded by her father’s action , Bwonsamdi is her Loa now, she has bones in her dress, the Zandalari went from Rezan being Loa of Kings to Bwonsamdi
I remember reading somewhere that the Wrathion we fight in Ny’alotha is fake, that it was to make us believe Wrathion can be easily corrupted but it is not the real Wrathion.
The problem with Blizzard, it’s that in their writing they don’t do “subtle”, like, at all…if they make a reference to one character, it’s almost never a red herring.
They also do this with their characters, although sometimes it’s extremely silly. The name of the characters, for example…Cordana FELsong…who would have thought that a watcher with the word “FEL” in her surname could have actually become a betrayer? ![]()
or Aethas in the Purge of Dalaran…why did he “shifted uncomfortably?”
Because he was actually involved and guilty by association…
So when Blizzard say “Boy King”, even in a whisper reference of an evil entity, it’s 99% of the times Anduin. Although sometimes they also outright lie, like when they said “wait and see” when people weren’t sure who would have burned Teldrassil yet…and of course it was Sylvanas ![]()
You are 100% right on this, I watch too many crime shows to think there is always going to be a mystery to solve, but the majority of the stuff like what you mentioned were always shown to us !
Considering that Ogmot’s journal stated that the first lie has already been told, this rules Bolvar out, since the first lie had to be told during the Legion or in the immediate aftermath of it, unless Bolvar told the lie to the Ebon Blade.
But if it was Anduin, then what lie did he tell before BfA?
Oh yes ! It could be I mean the DK class campaign has been very messy in terms of what people would say is “good” Bolvar has been acting all Lich King instead of being a noble man that just accepted the fate of the damned
First lie Anduin thinking, the burning legion was defeated. Which didn’t happen but we don’t know that yet. See Oggmots Dream journal.
I bet the guys at Blizz HQ are having a blast seeing the community argue at length about this vague nonsense they’ve put forward. These whispers were datamined three years ago and some of them have yet to come true. Or maybe they have but they’re so vague that no one can figure out the true meaning of them.
…
Maybe the Boy King is Blizzard and the three lies are the broken promises from this expansion. [Galaxybrain]
I also have a theory that those whispers are just talking about Blizzard. I think that the golden one who claims the vacant throne is Golden, and that she is the one who made a bargain with the true enemy (Ion).
To be fair, if I was a dev I would totally want to put exactly this kind of easter egg messages in, especially after it was made clear in lore that Old God prophecies can be rubbish.
it is mentioned also in Ogmot’s Dream Journal, so far Ogmot’s Dream Journal was valid about what is going on in BfA.
Thats a intresting idea, i mean by dragon terms he is a boy if you compare his age to the other dragons despite looking like a adult.
the again it says boy king servers at the masters table, this could realy be that it is the master that gives out the lies also, it does say three lies he will offer you, technicaly this could meen it is the master that lies. not the boy king.
