The Evolution of Creative Content in World of Warcraft

TBH I don’t think I’d feel comfortable if a stranger purposely came over to brush up against me IRL.

Or am I getting the meaning of the words wrong?
Not a native speaker so I may be totally off track but it would seem like persecutable harassment to me in a real life/work scenario.

Farts… well ok, they are annoying too, but for other reasons.

I do yell at my husband for those.

Yes, the evolution, yet still no heritage armor for our race and still no heritage weapons. And I do not get all your unwanted censoring, what it adds to the game? As if you are slowly trying to “evolve” (devolve!) the game into “E”, but I am afraid the six year oldies will not appreciate your efforts anyway.

why would you want to give Amazon money?

Offensive emotes? What are you, 5?

hearing good things from my ex wow guildies about new world atm… i havent installed it yet myself. but i own it.

You may not have used it for yourself, but there is an option to remove ‘mature language’ from ingame chat, and I know parents who have enabled it in order to let their teen children play (supervised).

We had a mom with her daughter in guild, playing together.

Ah, the thing that filters half of my language (Danish) by accident. Yes, I don’t use that.

Do you feel any less comfortable with it than with someone who walks over to you and stands 10cm away and then lets out a huge fart? xD

But honestly I always felt that emote was more for joking between pals. I can’t recall anyone actually using /fart to insult me.

That’s just a category you can put those emotes that are deemed offensive by Blizzard.
You can name them whatever, i don’t personally find anything offensive in this game.

Name them: snowflake-killer emotes, stabby words, i really don’t care.

Now since i answered you, answer me too.
How would you call the emotes that blizz took out/changed?
Put them in a category, now.

Lol. I know some Danish and have Danish friends in game but never heard about that before. Guess they haven’t used it either. But if you need it, you should probably log a bug report for it.

I hear it works fine for English. ^^

If you use WoW’s language filter you can’t say “the end” in Danish it gets censored.

I think I came up with 10 examples in a thread some time back, but it’s fairly ordinary words that occur often which get censored.

It’s obviously because it’s applying an English language filter to Danish spelling.

Yes, ma’am!

Ma’am, I call them just “removed emotes”, ma’am.

You can’t say … “how” in romanian either. :frowning:

You don’t really know what you’re talking about right?
Do you have the comprehension skills of a 5 yo?

It’s about what could Blizz have done instead of removing/changing them.
So you can’t name an option in the bloody settings section named “removed emotes” if they were never removed in the first place?

So i’ll ask you now:

Just as an example, fart in swedish means speed. It’s inevitable that those filters won’t work for any other language except english.

Yes, that’s one of them for Danish, too!

LOL Yeah, I’m rather confused right now. Worry not, it’s nearly pint time  I’m just suffering from alcohol withdrawal! May reply again when my senses are back :stuck_out_tongue:

Well it is Brewfest… so i can’t really blame you. xD

Haha, that’s a good summary of this thread:

That would be the best solution.

LOL, okay, no, I surely wouldn’t enjoy it. I guess I simply wouldn’t expect anyone who wasn’t a friend or family to care to ‘harrass’ me that way (as a matter of facts my other half DOES hug and fart loudly on purpose to defy my complaints about it…), while I can more easily imagine the ‘brushing’ being abused in unfortunate and unpleasant circumstances.

So I guess that indeed, even though I was never bothered by it in game, I do get that someone else may have been harassed with it.

That said, as someone else suggested, an option to filter ‘rude emotes’ handled in the same way as the ‘mature language’ filter we already have in the social options might have probably worked better.

Might be worth dropping a note about it on PTR as feedback.

Some do care, but it’s the usual minorities. This is what these changes are aimed at.

Blizz acting on a minority, but too many times it is the wrong miniority. They are once again like usual doing that.

Which pisses off the Majority.
