Well, we’ve got giant parrots, so really…
No, it wouldn’t.
But the Rp playerbase is only a fraction of the population of the world.
And a warrior going out and taming a proto-drake? Sure, I mean, we’ve got Dragonmaw orcs doing it.
I think we’re getting a bit hyper-focused on the fact that the tameable Wolfhawks are all named NPCs. In the flavor text for the first Wolfhawk you receive, it says:
" The spirit of the Great Hunter found you worthy, and now its children will answer your call forevermore."
To me. This implies that there are more than just the six.
As with other exotic mounts, I would recommend that the Wolfhawk be integrated deeply into your character’s roleplay before using it. It could make a fun story arc: A Hunter attempting to earn the favour of Haukenulfnir, in order to show their worthiness to partner with one of their descendants!
… still really mad about the whole “there’s only three!” thing for the priest mounts, those owl lions are adorable.
Same as it wouldn’t make sense for all Death Knights to have a Frostwyrm, nor all shamans to have a summoned elemental to ride on. Some warriors are strong enough to tame dragons IC, we have a whole orcish clan who did it. I’m unsure what point you’re trying to make.
I think it still boils down to the strenght of your character. Is he a strong enough warrior to be able to tame a proto-drake?
However, it does imply you need to be found worthy, and isn’t the Hunter class hall leader the first one to complete it in like, a freaking loooong time?
That said, I’d love to see a Warsong orc with one of these, these beasts are more fitting to them than wolves.
The first, but hopefully not the last. I’m of the mind that since blizzard have not outright confirmed or denied the abundance of these Wolfhawks in lore, they should - with care and consideration - be used, because otherwise it’s just a waste of a beautiful model and creature!
Well, the Paladin mount IC is eugh because it’s literally Rivendare’s Deathcharger that was purified or something - meaning there is like, only one. I was guilty of using it IC mainly because I liked the model OOC, but it was literally just a normal horse Ari got from somewhere had some armor made for it and had an absurd obsession with munching grave flowers. : D
Sadly that horse picked a fight with a bear and is now deader than a death knights dead horse.
Do you just hate your animals?
Oh, you know full well what a nightmare that horse was! xD
I actually went and made the Paladin horse IC. The only tweaks being that 1) its not Rivendares mount, but her own/her masters old steed, 2) the Draenei helped resurrect/Lightforge him during the latter days of Legion.
So, he’s still a horse… kind of. He doesn’t fly, though
The druid form seems pretty acceptable.
Only the monk mount is unacceptable.
It’s the freaking son of Xuen, a Wild God.
I always forgot the monk mount, that’s how much of an impression he left. Well, there’s green tigers that you can tame as hunter pet so I suppose a red one as a mount isn’t too far fetched either. (as long as you don’t say it’s The son of Xuen, 'course.)
If you wanna use a red tiger mount, just use the Shado-Pan Tiger mount :<
Of course, with this question I’m going on the presumption that it’s not the exact same thing as what you earn in Legion.
The pally horse would just be a light-infused horse rather than Rivendare’s charger and all that, the mage disc would be… well, I dunno what it is, but it’d not be that. And so on.
tho that same argument is harder to make for the monk & hunter mounts
I’ll just chip in and say that there are similar ravens in-game during the setting up the garrison part in Shadowmoon Valley. You kill a bunch of them for a quest, and they are never seen again. Perhaps a number found their way on to Azeroth and into private collections or beastiaries?
And then there are these birds from the Spires of Arakk, too. Could be one of those. I had a friend who rode one after RPing finding a wounded bird, healing and befriending it for a long time.
Still would be extremely rare though, I guess.
Demon hunter mounts are felbats, so I see them as being used rather often. But I have to wonder: if the rumoured Tinker class is going to be added, how will they obtain their class mounts if it is not added to Legion content? Likely another questline, but I wonder what they could be.
Probably the same way the after WotLK races can get new mounts from their racial factions in the Argent Tournament.
Who says they’d have a class mount. And if they do, why wouldn’t it just work like paladin / warlock mounts?
Not everything in game has to follow the same formula.
Equally, it’s very possible that we’re not going to get any classes akin to monks, that you start leveling from 1 to cap. But instead, If we’re to get tinkerer, it’ll be a hero class akin to DK and DH, and they will start their progress at 117, just in time for the next expansion, meaning they’ll not be going through the Legion main story line / class story line, meaning they won’t require class mounts.
