I remember they released sales figures like 2 weeks after shadowlands released, wasn’t it the faster selling computer game of all time or something? Because of lockdown no doubt but still.
Any way looks like DF hasn’t done as well or they’d have released them surely? Shame because the general consensus is DF is better. I hope it is doing well, anyone have any idea how it is doing?
Tbh. If u look at 2 weeks. It hit christmas and they all went home to close til just going back now.
They havent rly had a chance to release sales.
Its why alot of people wanted the expansion launch pushed back til january.
As to sales, i doubt the game did badly. Also blizzard said they never expected 10.0 to reawaken WoW.
They said 11.0 this expansion was just susposed to be the start of reverting rhe damage the prior 3 has done, and to set things in place for 11.0
Ion said he never expected super high success, so they basically admitted they dont think DF is going to massive, theyre building on tbe idea 11.0 will be
100% it’s doing good but the numbers will drop very quick. They gave the casuals pretty much everything they wanted but the casuals won’t stick anyway while this time the core player base has less reason to stick because there is less grind involved.
Shadowlands also sat in a content draught so it isnt like they had anything to do. Unlike this time where they threw down 3 patchs prior christmas.
Not to mention SL launched in covid where no one was allowed to go aee families etc etc so devs peolly far more likely to do overtime in that given situation
There are people who do censuses and stuff proving the games doong fairly well.
For example.
DF reached 2 million unique accounts in m+ records after 24 hours, it took SL 2 weeks to total the same.
So at minimum there are more people doing the content in DF.
Major game seller in my country released game sales for december 2022. WoW DF wasnt even in top 10 so. Like what you expect when DF majo issues with game were not even touched.
I’ve found this too. People are usually only interested in this so that they can take a dump on Blizzard when the sales are not as strong as whichever random, non-sales person is looking for this information thinks that they should be.
I’m the opposite I actually want the game to do really well because I love WoW. I was hyped by all the positive reviews it was getting and was excited there might be sales figures to go with them, but no.
I have to admit that I’ve not considered if it’s sold well or not. I am really enjoying this expansion even with the motion sickness the dragon riding gives me.
I also have no idea what other games Dragonflight went up against. They can’t have interested me but WoW has been my main game for years
I genuinely believe that it is most likely doing well. Positive word spreads and DF has largely been well-received so far by the players.
I’m sure the sales are in good enough order that they will proceed to deliver a great expansion this time regardless. It is of little consequence whether they release this information or not.
Content-wise this expansion is a triumph. Not just the quantity and the appearance, but also the quality of the new concepts introduced.
If this expansion doesn’t perform as good as the previous ones commercially, then that can be squarely blamed on Shadowlands going scorched earth on the player’s goodwill.
I hope the subscription numbers are high; because thus far I have been enjoying Dragonflight and it would be such a shame if I have to quit because the subscription numbers are too low.
