Tier set bugged?

I jus upgraded a conquest piece today at the catalyst for the 4 set on my monk, it’s a piece that isnt usually a part of the tier set but i dont get any 4 set bonus from it?? why is this

no. only original tier set slots can be converted to tiers. everything else just converts to the raid equivalent.

Because tier bonus pieces are specific slots - chest, hands, helm, legs and shoulder, so you need to convert one of those to get tier bonus.

ahhh FFFFFFF will blizzard reverse this?

The catalyst is converting an item into the specific tier item of the same gearslot. 5 of those slots have set bonusses.

No and why would they, its not as if it doesn’t tell you what item you will get if you proceed with the conversion.

It has to be a tier slot in order to become a tier piece.

I think we are using the word “tier” different than blizzard. Since blizzard has literally the word “tier” in the catalyst mentioned, but they mean the whole gearset. Not only the set pieces.

Also you cant convert Cypher gear to tier pieces either

You can argue semantics of terminology.

This doesn’t change that the tier set bonuses are only available on head, shoulders, chest, hands and legs.

It was bound to cause confusion that more than just those items were upgradeable in the catalyst. :frowning:

I am not arguing. In the catalyst itself it is saying something like “convert a normal piece into a tier piece”. And then you throw in an item, and it converts. Obviously everyone can mouseover the item you get to check. I am not putting the responsibility of it on blizz  But when we all use the word ‘tier’ here on the forums and everywhere, and the catalyst is using that exact same word but has a different definition, i can understand the confusement.

But what i am not understanding i that people don’t understand you simply convert into the specific raid gear piece. Which can be usefull for getting a BiS item, or just for collecting a full transmog.

Technically it’s a tier set. The whole lot, then there are pieces with tier bonuses which we the playerbase commonly refer to as tier pieces.

Even the preview doesn’t seem to be a clue for those converting. I do understand the confusion. PvP players are confused when they lose versa and other players are confused when their wrists don’t turn into tier bonus items.
