Timear Foresees a Proof of Demise! Stuck Loading

Hi everyone ^-^
I’m having a game-breaking bug with quest (arcantina) Timear Foresees a Proof of Demise!

Whenever i use the portal from Archmage Timear, the loading screen hangs and I get a “Streaming error”. i was forced to use the character unstuck service just to get back into the game. After that, I manually traveled to Pandaria and tried using the portal there instead, but the exact same crash happened again◞ ‸ ◟

I’ve wasted my whole day on this loop. Does anyone know a solution or a workaround to actually complete this quest without the A streaming error has occurred

I don’t see this bug mentioned on Wowhead or the Bug report forum, or really anywhere else.

The Streaming Error is probably error WOW51900322 implying that your system is having a problem loading the zone for Isle fo Thunder.

https://eu.support.blizzard.com/en/help/article/22862 gives Blizzard’s recommendations for that.

I would first try

  1. Rename or move the Cache, Interface, and WTF folders in your _retail_ directory (move them to your desktop so you can restore them later). This wipes all addon data and cached settings, which ensures nothing third-party is interfering with the loading process.
  2. Do a Scan and Repair on your WoW installation. If you click the cogwheel beside the word PLAY on your BattleNet client, you will get a menu including Scan and Repair. This will check your programs and data, and fix any problems it finds.

Then, with a clean Cache and no addons, try again. I have no idea whether this will actually solve the problem, but it is the first thing to try. I don’t even know for sure whether the problem is at your end or Blizzard’s, but since I don’t see other reports, I’m guesssing it’s at yours. This is a pretty fast check of that idea.

After that, your next post would be to the Technical Support forum https://eu.forums.blizzard.com/en/wow/c/support/technical-support/13 in case anyone else would have ideas, and your only further option is a Support Ticket.

I can confirm that someone else in the US is having this same problem with Archmage Lan’dalock. You can see their report here

It’s a different problem.

He says: "I just completed Still Behind Enemy Portals and Archmage Lan’dalock isn’t offering the quest Timear Forsees a Proof of Demise "

That is different from yours, where you have taken the quest, but are getting a “Streaming Error” when you try to portal to Isle of Thunder.

I did also see another report from someone who was getting a “Streaming Error” some months ago, but that was not specific as to the zone or phase or quest.

The issue has been fixed! I had to go to Battle.net and scan/repair the game. Thanks, everyone ^^ :heart:
