Then he was doing something wrong, like I said.
It is so boring rofl, last night I played 1 TW dungeon, it was Skyreach or something like that, full of birds it was my first time there. It was the most disgusting dungeon ever but had a good laugh at last boss.
The last boss calls birds and those birds randomly pick one player and slowly drag them to the cliff then yeet down. We intentionally didn’t kill the bird, it was funny watching him slowly getting dragged to death
Ok, so I went in and tried a TW dungeon on this char. It’s easier than it was back in WoD at launch. Seriously. That guy must have been doing something seriously wrong to die or the healer was slacking.
do i really have to go lvl a DH to 105 to test this?
i already did it with 110s and a “freshly” dinged 120 druid (without BFA features or borrowed power as u say)
yes, i do farm the 500 token quests, u can buy alot of stuff in events with those, specialy some heirloom upgrades
took my 110 DH and purposely removed demon spikes from my bars (normal active mitagation that gives armor and parry)
TW dung was iron docks, died once because i got cocky and stood on the spinning axes from trash before second boss.
rest of the run was smooth (pack to pack, no sprint multi pull), using the CDs available, did not use demon spike.
now im going to ask, was the healer healing? what were you doing? did u CC anything?
After reading the topics, I must say I got curious and decided to give it a go.
After running with my:
- BE Hunter - 5 runs
- This Hunter - 5 runs.
- BE paladin (holy) - 5 runs
- BE Mage - 4 runs
- Still got seven characters to run and time is getting short.
This is my conclusion:
Both parties in this discussion have a point.
For the players saying: “Easy. Just do the mechanics”.
Yes. If you are a experienced player.
I would say, if you play higher content like Mithic +.
But than how is that a surprise ?
Not everyone has time to spend multiple hours in this game, to get to Mithic level of experience, should they be blamed for that ?
Apparently yes, even if we are talking of a TW dungeon, that rewards less than a Mithic + dungeon.
Which begs the question, why someone that plays the game in the hardest mode, complains about the game in lower difficulty ?
Should Ragefire Chasm be turned to hell just for the laughs as well ?
Because we all play level 120s and noobs should learn the hard way as well ?
Now let us take the discussion to the next level: because Method killed N’Zoth and there’s videos all over the internet, of how to do it, should we mock the players that fail to do that as well ?
/S
For the players stating, is over turned:
I agree with your point.
Got in my first Dungeon Skyreach, on my BE Hunter.
No surprise died right at the first boss.
Didn’t expect a mechanic that would kill you right at the start.
Door closed, camera went too close to my character, didn’t see a blade beneath my character, while I was trying to get aimed shots.
So time to start “dancing” and zoom out on max setting.
Got killed in the middle of the bird packs because I was doing AoE and got too close of the birds.
Got killed again while trying to kite the Phoenix. Boss starts to throw feathers and got caught off guard.
Died again in another dungeon, Auchindoun.
The first boss starts to cast a AOE and I wasn’t aware that you die if you don’t start running immediately to the safe spot.
On this character got the same bloody dungeon, Skyreach not once but twice.
I was already aware of the first boss mechanics, so I started “dancing” around as BM, no deaths here.
But in second boss the group wiped and we had to do it multiple times, till we got that right.
Not a surprise, since damage was lower and I noticed that there was a boss mechanic I didn’t noticed in my first run: a beam that heals the boss and you have to be in the front of it, problem is it also takes your HP overtime as well. If you exhausted your CD and the Healer is already stressed healing the tank you are going to bite the dust soon.
Learned the second boss mechanics, because we had to repeat it multiple times and that happened with the group in my last run as well.
On the third boss, the fight took forever, since I was busy kitting and killing the Phoenix birds.
On the last boss I noticed that the further away you are from it the easier it is to be thrown away by the bird that picks you up.
So it’s melee distance ftw even if you are a ranged character: pathetic.
On my third run died stupidly in the first boss, while trying to avoid a mechanic, because I never noticed you could actually fall on that platform.
No wonder I never got that dungeon when leveling up with this character, my Forsaken Priest or Orc Warrior. People dodge queue it all the time. I kept getting Bloodmaul Slag Mines, most if not all the times.
And we are talking about leveling dungeon difficulty not TW difficulty.
On my BE paladin in The Everbloom dungeon, we died because one of the bosses kept healing up to full HP and the group didn’t focus the healer.
Ran out of Mana and we wiped.
On Bloodmaul Slag Mines, I couldn’t keep up with the damage so in the fire boss two DPS died.
On the last boss we couldn’t take him down fast enough, so the floor started to become flooded with fire soon none had any place to go we all died except for the tank Orc DK that soloed the boss for the last 5%.
On my Mage got The Everbloom, we failed to kill in the three boss scenario the healer and party broke off.
As a result, I wasted more than half a hour waiting for the dungeon to pop off and running it.
On another party, but same instance, I kept getting targeted by the tree boss with a green mark on CD. Every freaking time, I couldn’t stop to cast, I had to move to get away from the incoming roots. Ridiculous !
On the last boss, I popped all my CDs and Time Warp, got stunned right at the beginning. What a joke.
Final result: 15 runs, one fail, fourteen succeed.
Also it seems the queue times increased as well, so now I am waisting more time in queue.
So now you are looking at increased queue times and increased levels of frustration.
Is this what Activision Blizzard defines as fun ?
I thank everyone that stood in those fifteen runs, what a nightmare.
Meanwhile we keep getting punished by their screw ups in BFA.
I wonder which part of:
“I don’t like Mithic difficulty”, they failed to understand, when I queue for TW dungeon.
Is this supposed to be “training” to show how much “fun” harder content is ?
If anything it just drove me off completely.
In fact the only reason I am pushing myself to gear my characters and level up everyone, is because I expect them to screw up things when the next expansion comes.
I will make sure to “Reward” them in SL.
My thoughts right now, are either ditch that expansion or purchase it when it comes with 40% discount a year after.
That’s my opinion.
I apologise but I am beyond mad right now.
Cheers.

Hate to break it to you but hardly any decent player with a geared toon is running timewalking dungeons right now, for the reward isn’t appealing. So what you get is the ultimate casuals trying to struggle through
Same thing happened when they changed LFR rewards and all raiders stopped doing it.
Tbh I don’t find any issues in TW dungeons unless people do not know the mechanics, how to interrupt heals or how to NOT stand in shizzle. 99% of the time the WoD Tw runns I have been in (on different chars)was nothing but smooth, and the rest of the time, it just really took someone to tell the group how to counter, and it went fine from there.
People think of TW dungeons as current normal cakewalk dungeons… They should think of the dungeons in TW, like it’s a M+ today.
You cannot just ignore the fire you are standing in, or think that you will live through the boss’s AOE. you cannot just ignore the Add healing, or think that you will survive getting splatted by giant rolling lava balls
With that said:
- The bridge on HC Bloodmaul Slag mines, has always caused wipes to new people not knowing about the lava balls coming back again and the drift.
- Everbloom HC has always caused some ragequitting if people didn’t know when to interrupt.
- And Skyreach HC has always been a grp breaker
- Worst of all was always Grimrail - yet it is one of my most favoured dungeons, simply because it is so different from all the others.
In my personal oppinion, I love that they have them tuned to match the difficulty of a HC at the time, if it was just a cakewalk zergfest like normal dungeons that we have today, I wouldn’t even bother going there, not even for nostalgia.
Cata TW is overtuned though - but the rest is fine.
ha, thought i do my duty as a hearty warrior and jumped in front of it, damn thing burnt my valiant heart in a second…
i’ve never been particularly well geared, yet i’ve never had a problem surviving heroics, or even finishing packs and bosses off if the tank falls, given a good healer but these…boy, i was even getting wiped by the flipping birds pecking you on the windy bit in skyreach, they never even used to hit you in heroic, can’t speak for mythic …
he does cheat sometimes though, instead of spamming his attack, he spams heal…
I dont want to qoute spam your whole post m8.But two points il express. Why do people treat failure in game as something bad?Why do people keep wanting to play a hugh loot piniata?and not go and read the mechanics?
I would also touch on your point “mythic + players want it”,il just say there are people who played it back in WoD and know the mechanics, they know the character they are doing them now and respect the content.I’ve said in my previous posts my though about TW’s.And i think they are in a fine spot for people who are leveling, but they need to up the rewards for 120 players, especially those who are geared.(echos from dungeon runs, heroic chest nylotha)
ok, lets address this once and for all, cause people seem to have forgotten, current dungeons ie: MoP WoD, used to take some amount of time and sometimes effort… Too many people have gotten their “Sonic” mode on and queue for these Timewalkings expecting to do MASSIVE pulls etc like in low M+ “gotta go fast” and get totally wrecked, followed by sometime rage leaving the group.
Now whilst i agree that TimeWalking should be but a “dip in the past” and i agree it would be good having it as a cakewalk, i also remember that it wasn’t always so… Remember in WoD when you had to do proving grounds to even be able to enter Mythic dungeons? I remember, and i thought it a good thing, as if you cant even do Proving grounds you’ve got nothing in Mythic dungeons…
Gullible out!
If I am doing Mithic +, or anything related to raiding, it’s understandable.
I signed up for it and the rewards are worth it.
Upping difficulty in a content I did just a few months ago, just for the sake of it is what drives me mad.
There’s different contents in the game.
If one mode is boring you have higher levels of difficulty.
Turn everything in to challenge mode and honestly, what happens to the casual player who just want to chill out in a min stress environment ?
In Mithic+ you can’t be kicked, they can’t replace you.
If you are running a higher raid difficulty, you might be told by your guild. Assuming you are running in one.
If you die to many times in LFD expect to be kicked if people have no patience and did it already several times.
This is the difference.
Premades have to accept, failure.
Pugs are not that generous.
With easier/faster, more efficient XP dungeons available ?
Why would I be interested in anything TW has to offer, when the only thing I want is to get to max level as soon as possible.
Cheers.
I do actually
But I don’t remember being 1-shot by a boss mechanic I failed to avoid just one time.
Thing is, I got through a couple of TWs with some guildies, but we couldn’t actually be bothered finishing the weekly. The effort investment is too high for a single 445 item and some currency for things we don’t need.
Now if you want to make it a 460-470 item, now the difficulty level feels more appropriate; but I think people who consider 445 an upgrade are justified in believing it is currently overtuned.
I seriously wonder what kind of groups you guys have been with. I did weekly with all my 120’s (solo through finder)with no big problem aside for the waiting time, when being DPS
now this i agree with, and would actually argue that it’s absurd that some weeks blizzard rewards HC gear for completing a handful of current Mythic dungeons, and other weeks it’s normal gear?!
And yes, other than the charms and mount chance from the TW runs, the 445 gear you get is hardly worth it, especially seeing as how a regular M0 already rewards 430
TL;DR i agree and they should make the weekly reward HC loot instead of Normal to entice more people to do them
Also maybe scale the dungeon based on the average ilvl of the group… or allow us to build up a TW key like we do with M+, such that we choose our own difficulty. Allow us to keep the TW+ key between events, so that in 5 weeks I’ll open my weekly chest with a Mechanar +8 or something
People from my guild, on voice chat, all 460 or higher geared.
And yet a stupid spinny thing on the ground 1-shot me, and we had a number of fatalities in unexpected places.
While I certainly do remember that it was normal to CC 1 or 2 mobs in a pack and we were starting to do this again, the floor mechanic definitely hit too hard, and the weekly reward is laughably useless.
monthly TW keys
Interesting idea, i actually like that concept! @Blizzard make it so!
and yeah, if it’s not done already, it most definitely should be scaled around peoples average ilvl… If it’s not that’s mind boggling
Well i did all 5 for weekly on this toon and it wasnt that scary as people describe. Boring and unplesant yes, but not hard. Had only one wipe on Rukhan in Skyreach because people didnt hide behind pillar fast enough.
