yep, Skyreach does seem to be the one that most runs fall down on, i mean come on…dying to the birds on the windy platform, the flipping birds…not the Arrakoa, i LIKE the difficulty level, don’t like the sulking though…

I disagree.
I do heroics in BFA and it’s definitely hell.
Finished my 5th run on my BE mage and went to pick my Forsaken priest.
Got Iron Docks dungeon.
I think it was a premade from two servers.
The tank was a Zandalari Troll DK.
It had the legendary cape and lots of corrupted gear.
It was like he was in leveling gear.
Hard to keep him up.
Gear seems to not make any difference.
Best tank I got was a Zandalari Troll monk level 108, in Bloodmaul Slag Mines.
For my 5th run got the worst dungeon Skyreach.
Completely fail.
It’s amazing how much difference goes between a group that knows what to do and one that is still trying to adapt.
First wipes happened right after on second pull, a patrol group comes and we now faced about ten mobs.
We wiped and because players kept resurrecting we kept on wiping.
Tank on third pulls gets it right and pulls them further away from their location.
We now went to the first boss.
Can’t cast because I keep getting targeted and no where to be safe.
We wipe a couple more times, till I finally got it right.
Solution: spam flash heals and every CD I could remember.
We move and thought this was going to be a cake walk now.
Died again on the next trash pack.
Went for the second boss.
Players didn’t knew the mechanics, we wiped untill everyone gave up.
In fact I think we had like ten players coming in and out.
I blame this on my poor gear.
Dungeon run failed and second time I don’t finish a dungeon.
Total repair costs about 225g + 94g.
Got Auchindoun and a premade again.
Tank was a Mag’har Orc.
Quickly found out that anything bellow flash heal wasn’t enough to keep him up.
The rest was a cake walk, because without any surprises they played as a premade.
Lesson learned after five runs: spam flash heal, anything bellow that is unacceptable.
Btw I tried to DPS a couple of times, but sometimes that meant someone died as well.
Like a Zandalari retribution Troll paladin, I got in Everbloom instance. He was on the bottom line in the HP bar, 5th player.
Whenever I took my eyes of him he usually died.
Found in the run I had with him, also another I interesting mechanic, the tree boss spammed targeting roots on me and not only you have to avoid that mechanic, you also have to make sure to be the hell out of the way of your group.
Otherwise the floor around the boss starts becoming flooded with things to not step on. Very interesting since that was probably the 5th time I was doing it.
Going with my BE WW monk and hopefully, things won’t be as bad as with my Forsaken priest.
Still got five characters to go.
It’s just baffling that a priest that was more than enough to heal, heroics in BFA feels like nothing in WoD TW.
At least now I am done with her.
Edit: Someone had a lot of fun making this TW a living hell.
The other WoD TW, last time, was a lot smoother. 40 runs with no fails.
This one has already two fails and I still have five characters to go.
Cheers.
we will never reach the dificulty levels on WoD TW release.
no tanks want to tank it… at all, dps queues took ages because of that.
luckly for me i was a blood DK and farmed BiS TW gear back then, boy it was the best time to farm emblems from bonus for queuing as tank as it was always up
now i can do it on my 110 alts and a fresh 120 druid with a smooth run (no sprint ofc)
this time i was even able to finish Burial grounds in 14min on this DK thanks to the movement speed legendaries so i could run like the wind
Because you’re scaled down. Duh. Everyone gets scaled to the same ilvl.
Knowing how to play makes the difference. I did it on my 105 druid on horde to check if people were telling the truth about how difficult they are. What did I find? They’re more faceroll than they were in WoD at the launch.
… and definitely harder than a couple of months ago.
Just asking: Was the gear you got on that time worth it ?
I believe it was.
This one rewards 445 ILV when you have people walking in their alts with 465 ILV.
Cheers.
They’re still faceroll.
Obvious answer from a player playing higher level difficulty.
You would have to delete your memory and start all over again to understand anyone that doesn’t play at your level.
It’s like a premier league player stating second division is face roll.
Cheers.
given u can do them on fresh 120 toons with some below 300 ilvl gear and some random 385 benthic tokens (ilvl doesnt even matter), yes, geting a free 445 piece of gear is worth if u know how to tank.
i am assuming many just want fast queue as tank without any experience, i did iron docks on a 110 DH without using demon spikes to test the theory from a dude above.
do i think doing 5 for a 445 gear is worth on my case that cba with more alts this expantion? no, not at all
but then again i did it on 7 chars already for the 550 bonus TW emblems, all being tanks (4x120, 3x110)
they are not faceroll. they just have mechanics many ignore or dont know off
tanks geting crushed on first 2 mobs in bloodmaul is an example, they didnt even tried to dodge, interrupting fears, not standing in dmg zones, some bosse mechanics.
these are all stuff that will kill u on 120 dungs that u still need to properly do and after geting hit the first time its expected a basic level of “what was that” learning
edit: now that i said, maybe i agree, TW is for fun and for casual play, maybe a quick patch to make them easier, but since we wont see WoD TW for a long time i doubt they touch it
TW should be for fun and should be a fun weekly event regardless of reward
Not any more, hence the title of the topic. I could soak the beams on the second boss without taking much of any damage from anything and I only ever did heroic dungeons in WoD so didn’t have the best gear. This week in 473 gear, I was struggling to stay alive.
Thanks for your advices.
Got 2 Warriors and a DH to do their five runs. Saving them for last as I am still gathering information atm.
Cheers.
Your gears ilvl doesn’t matter unless it’s too low to be downscaled. You’re downscaled, everyone is. Even if you had ilvl 9000 you’d be downscaled to the same as everyone else.
Yes, I’m aware I’m downscaled, thanks for being condescending. The point is if the downscaling/tuning is such that it means it’s tougher than it was in heroic dungeon gear back then, and I ran that place over 200 times, then it’s definitely overtuned, and current ilvl must have some effect to the point at which you downscale above some baseline else all tanks of the same class would have the same health, which they don’t. And it’s certainly tougher than the last time WoD was on timewalking.
for the DH i strongly advise taking this setup
Join thousands of mighty heroes in Azeroth, a world of magic and limitless adventure.
and use fiery brand with burning alive talent, its great to reduce the pack dmg by jumping from mob to mob
if u feel u pulled too much dont be afraid to kite around for breathing room, good luck
good luck
Thanks.
I will need it.
Cheers.
that it means it’s tougher than it was in heroic dungeon gear back then
It isn’t though. It’s easier than at launch, when you didn’t even have heroic gear.
/run SetRaidTarget(“target”, 8)
that is a macro to mark stuff with skull, makr stuff so dps can easily thin down the mobs
